"Beware of the construction"

**Disappointing Operational Failures — Saved Only by Two Outstanding Employees** Before getting into my stay, some broader issues need to be addressed. The Beverly Hilton is shockingly bad at answering its published phone number. I called the evening of 1/27 to confirm my 1/29 check-in — the phone rang roughly 15 times before anyone answered. I called multiple additional times during my stay, including the evening of 2/3/26, and the phone was never picked up at all. This was *after* the hotel had cleared out from the Grammys, so there were no remaining excuses. I was calling to extend my stay — a fairly basic request — and this level of inaccessibility is not what one expects from a top-tier (nearly five-star) hotel. I’m sure management will respond with a generic “we’re sorry we didn’t meet your expectations,” but how about properly training your staff instead? This clearly wasn’t an isolated incident and did not only affect me. When I finally got through, I spoke with a young man and asked to be connected to a front desk representative named Dickey (who I’ll mention again — he was excellent). I was told no one by that name worked there. I explained that he absolutely did and spelled the name. At that point, the phone went silent. I called back and reached a young woman who informed me — unlike the previous person — that I had not reached the front desk and that she would connect me with in-house reservations. Within two minutes, my extended stay was handled efficiently and professionally. Whoever that young man was should be spoken to. This is not the level of service expected at the Beverly Hilton. Management might consider sending some employees down the street to another hotel with “Beverly” in its name for a lesson in five-star hospitality. Now to check-in. Due to construction, the main entrance is closed, making it very unclear for drivers where to pull in. Some find it, some don’t. When I was dropped off, there was no one available to assist with luggage. I had to drag my heavy bags up the front stairs myself while staff looked on without offering help. I’m perfectly capable, but after traveling, assistance would have been appropriate. I later learned there was a ramp around the side — something no one mentioned while watching me struggle. Be extremely careful where your room is located. There is massive construction underway, including major excavation at the front of the hotel. You do *not* want a room facing that area. I checked in around 10 p.m. and was stunned by the noise below — trucks, activity, constant disruption. I don’t mind city noise, but this was far beyond that. I went to the front desk and was told construction would stop by 11 p.m. and not resume until 9 a.m. I requested a room change and was told none were available on the quiet side. Construction continued well past 1 a.m., and I was woken again at exactly 7:20 a.m. by truck backup alarms. It was a miserable night. The next morning, I mentioned the noise to housekeeping staff, who informed me that some rooms on the quieter side were becoming vacant. I immediately went to the front desk and spoke with Dickey. Dickey was a **superstar**. He moved me to a quiet room, handled everything seamlessly, and restored what had been a very poor experience. He also arranged for bellman Craig to assist me — and Craig was equally outstanding. Professional, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Thanks to the two of them, the remainder of my stay was excellent. Management: please don’t respond with a canned apology. If you reply at all, make it clear you actually read this review.

Stay was only OK. No coffee bar in room. No coffee available in lobby. Room service breakfast took a long time and wasn’t great. Construction going on outside can be loud. I didn’t have a do not disturb sign when I first got there. Had to ask for it twice. Hair dryer was not good. I did like that the comforter was not too heavy or hot.

The Beverly Hilton is the place we would stay whenever we came to Los Angeles. While stays in the past were always enjoyable, the pool was out of sight, (especially when Dean Martin and Frank were playing in the background). Old Hollywood indeed! The food is delicious and the staff is always over and above polite, professional and kind. With the extensive construction, Hilton most certainly could have done better with extra perks for the customers due to the considerable inconveniences. Honestly Hilton, you are a multi-billion dollar entity.....it's time to give back to those who made you who you are today, that being, THE GUESTS! How about a free nights stay, complimentary dinner, tickets to the nearby comedy club in West Hollywood? It's above the immediate management's power to make these calls. Let the CEO, CFO, Board of Directors and Hilton family step up to the plate and start giving back! Are not your wallets padded enough with comfort? I doubt you would even come across this review on Trip Advisor. You are far too aloof, and lack true awareness, know not how to take action, and have your own agenda to honor this idea. Never forget where you came from, and the hoi polloi who helped get you there!

"Room for Improvement."

I stayed at this property for New Year’s Eve. While I was upgraded to a nice suite and the stay was pleasant, for the price there is room for improvement. For what I spent, I honestly should’ve stayed next door at the Waldorf. The “NYE meal” at Circa 55 was a disappointment. Rushed service and lack of attention. It felt as if they were more concerns with pushing guest through than delivering a memorable experience. I was also told that only the prix fixe option was available, and then watched as nearby tables ordered off the full menu. One glass of “complimentary” champagne with my dinner and never offered another cocktail. The lobster bisque’s emulsion was broken and visibly oily. The petite filet was maybe 4oz. Dinner was a let down. The property was also undergoing construction which , while hinted at in the app at booking, was drastically underplayed as to the extent of inconvenience. My Uber had to circle the block twice to find a drop off “entrance,” which then required me walking in through a side door, what felt like a service corridor, and some stairs before I could find the lobby. Yes, they had staff to direct me, but it set a sad tone from the start. The entire entry / departure process was so inconvenient I literally had my departing uber meet me at the Waldorf to make it less complicated. The upgraded suite was nice, but the empty space on the wall where a TV was shown in the app was a reminder of the incompleteness of the room. Amenities were lacking and bath toiletries you would expect in a luxury property were essentially absent. I recognize the property is iconic and as such, dated - in need of the makeover it is receiving. However, the experience for a major event like NYE was notably lacking in comparison to the expectations set by the properties online portrayal. Perhaps after the construction it will be worth the price and worth another chance… until then, I caution against this property - particularly considering other options in Beverly Hills. I typically enjoy every Hilton property and trust the brand, but in this case, Hilton could do far far better.
