"Overall a Pleasant Stay"

Good stay at this large, downtown Tampa Marriott. If you're attending an event at the convention center, you couldn't ask for a better location...right across the street. Some highlights included the friendly front desk staff, clean and updated rooms, nice gym and overall safe location. I tried Anchor and Brine, Riverwalk Terrace and Lona all onsite and were excellent. I was also able to visit Beacon rooftop at the JW Marriott connected to the hotel and was able to charge the food to my room. Some areas for improvement were the hallways...wear and tear was showing on my floor in addition to the gym as well. Small investments could brings these areas up to a higher standard. But, overall was a very good stay and recommend this hotel.

Definitely one of the top Marriotts we have stayed at! The hotel is beautiful. The food was really good at Anchor and Brine. The pool area was nice with plenty of chairs. The workout room is one of the nicest we have seen in a hotel. The hotel is right on the riverwalk! Wish we would have had more than one night. We will stay here next time we are in town.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tampa Marriott Water Street in May 2025. The hotel went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, offering a generous assortment of welcome gifts and vouchers that helped us relax and make the most of our time in downtown Tampa. This thoughtful gesture extended our one-night stay into a truly memorable experience. While we did encounter a small inconvenience during the night, the way the hotel handled the situation was remarkable. The manager and front desk staff in the morning were incredibly professional and attentive, addressing the issue with such care that it turned what could have been a negative experience into a very positive one. Their quick and effective resolution gave us a perfect 'make-up' experience. We were very impressed by their commitment to guest satisfaction and would highly recommend this hotel.

"Quick getaway"

We rode Amtrak ftom WPB - Tampa Union Station quick Uber to Marriott. Perfect lication right on river & the Tampa Convention center on 1 side & Amalie Arena on the otherside..easy stroll to both..Riverwalk is a beautiful walk-water taxi & other transports available. Free trolley station is right across the street. You can walk or ride the trolley to Sparkmans Wharf ,Florida Aquarium,Tampa history center & Columbia cafe .The hotels gift shop /convenience store had a great variety of snacks/essentials & gifts..The Lona restaurant on site is beautifully decorated & the Mexican food is top notch. Anchor & Brine is on-site also but I didn't dine there.They have a new coffee café opening up & right next door is the ice cream shop Bright Ice..Also the cruise ship Port is next to Aquarium. We will be going back in cooler weather.

Was treated very poorly by the front desk and management. I am a long time Marriott rewards member titanium level and never seen anything like this. Would not recommend. Seems to be a nice location and a nice property, so very disappointing.
