"Stay away from this awful place"

If I could, I'd give this place a 0. Please choose something else from the many places in Fort Bragg. The customer service was awful. Armando was standing there looking at me and waiting for me to figure out what and where to fill out. All my questions were answered as if I were intruding on his private life. I've been traveling a lot and don't remember such terrible customer service. The so-called breakfast was served in the corner of the dirty office. The milk was spoiled. Small croissants were cut into a few pieces, and just a few pieces were put out at once. A young female, Jackeline, was slowly moving around, barely doing anything. The ground wasn't just dirty, it was filthy. I asked the manager, Paul, to call me; he didn't. I contacted Windham and filed a complaint. Nobody has contacted me since then. That's a story.

"Apparent poor management"

This Super 8 shows evidence of mismanagement or non-management, which is unfortunate. Read the reviews on site (including my own), as well as here, and you'll notice nearly every one has a "response from management" expressing concern about any issues, and a promise that they will be addressed in the future. However, you'll also notice these are written by a third-party company hired and compensated for the purpose of providing a concerned response. There is a clear pattern of the primary problems guests experience, yet they continue over time, and the same comments are repeated over months. It is apparent management either doesn't care or doesn't address them effectively. My suggestion to management: If you don't want to be in the hospitality business, get out of it. I routinely stay in hotels with staff who are friendly and accommodating—including those of the "budget" variety—and who bend over backwards to make guests' stays pleasant and comfortable. Take a lesson from them.

The three of us stayed at Super 8 during labor day weekend - we picked this place based on price, location, and reviews. No matter what time we returned to Super8, there was always a parking spot for us. The room, sheets, and towels were very clean. Shower water pressure was good. Housekeeping did a good job freshening up the room for us. Bed and pillows were comfortable after a long day of exploration. The a/c in the room worked well. The lobby at coffee and tea in the morning were great to have onsite. Also, vending machine chips were 50 cents. Location was great - short drive to glass beach, fort bragg downtown, and mendocino. No frills for the price - photos of the room are exactly what you'll get. Staff was polite. Granted, the shower tub floor was bumpy and getting the right water temperature took a hot minute. The walls are thin - you can hear the upstairs unit turning on the bathroom light and the pipes draining. However, these dont matter as much since you'll be so tired from a full day of exploring mendocino county and won't be lounging in the room. You'll get your sleep here and be ready to start day!
