"Terrible"
November 2019 NEW
Waste of money. Paid $15 a piece to walk through terrible lights with creepy dolls and then $25 to drive through a 10 min light show with lights that didn’t pertain to Christmas, no music and more creepy boxes with dolls. Do not waste your time or money. Terrible ending to our weekend in Branson.

"So bad I'm Speechless"
November 2019 NEW
We have come down to Branson to tour the Trail of Lights for 16 years. This was our last year. Normally it is around a 45 min drive through the lights and is really awesome and enjoyable. This year it took 10 min. 10 min for $25! If you are looking for a nice drive thru christmas light display this should no longer be on your list. The new owners have really botched this one!

"Not worth the money"
November 2019 NEW
They charged 25.00 for car load even though there was only 2 of us in car. Stated sorry because all the rain they did not get all done. Wrong they did not even get half done. You get 5 minutes of lights for $25.00 and a free ticket to come back next year. Hopefully the money we paid will pay for more and better lights. Liked the old Christmas lights they had before. Not worth it now.

"The Trail of Creepy Boxes"
December 2018
I have heard that the trail of lights were great but I went and found out otherwise. The trail was more boxes with creepy dolls inside than lights. The trail is very narrow. The lights that were there had problems of their own. Many were not working properly. Would not recommend to anyone.

"String of lights, pot holes, and boxes with scenes"
December 2018
2018 Holiday Trail of Lights. Or string of lights, pot holes, and boxes with various holiday scenes. Some are animated, others are static. I can see time and detail went into creating some of them. My Wife found a few of them quite interesting. I just wouldn't call it a trail of lights.

The lights themselves were very basic and dated. It's all about the boxes. Which in themselves are rather dated.

The trail itself is a long winding "road" going up the hill. This is a fairly narrow road for which hasn't been maintained in a long time. Granted, I'm driving a vehicle with low profile tires. I found I spent the entire drive crawling and dodging pot holes. Some are seriously deep and could do damage to wheels if you aren't careful.

It's also rather dark. You'd think being a trail of lights that wouldn't be a problem. But I noticed quite a few people getting confused finding the place and trying to negotiate some tighter turns. I personally didn't have a problem, but I can see where it could be an issue for some.

There's also promise of hot chocolate if you want to park, go inside, and wait through more lines. Honestly, for $25 (per car load), I wouldn't go again. Once again, my wife found a bit more interest. It's just not worth the cost.

"Really sad"
December 2018
This is a really poor trail of lights. Many of the lights don't work and most of the displays look like they haven't been changed for 50 years. Honestly, the fact that they're charging for this should be a crime. You would see better lights and displays by just driving around neighborhoods and that's free.

"Disappointed"
December 2018
I was very disappointed this year not woth the $25 a carload. They have shortened it this year and the one thing I looked forward to was the tower and it is another $25. Probably won't make the trip back to Branson for this.

We went to the restaurant for breakfast and pulled in to a parking lot with two cars. That should of been our first indication maybe not a good idea. The actual restaurant is beautiful on the inside with the antiques and just old times feel. There was only one server on duty and seemed to be new. I ordered hot tea to be told they were out which seems very strange. The food didn't take too long to come to the table and portion sizes were good but the eggs were just soaking with butter. It was an average breakfast and the server seemed like they were still in training and should not have been alone. We were hoping for better as we have been coming for 30 years and wanted to try something new. It was a let down and the prices were high compared to other places. It almost seems the restaurant was an after thought and that shows as it isn't even a choice listed above. They really to step it up as we will not be back after only one visit.

The best part of this is the end, where you go to Santa's workshop to meet Santa and make crafts. The rest is just ok. There is a petting zoo, that only had a couple goats and a sheep. Once you get to the end of the path where Santa is, you have to turn around and walk back out the way you came in. There are glass boxes that line the path with animated characters in them. They look old, and dusty and some don't even work. This really need to be updated.

"Annual Light Display Visit"

Reviewed November 11, 2019 NEW
We have been to Shepherd of the hills many times to see the light display. Arrived this year to find the price is $25. After paying we were told the light display wasnt finished due to rain. They us a coupon to return again for free. We live about an hour from Branson so not sure we will come back. The display was horrible. About 1/4 of the display as in the past. Maybe worth $10 certainly not worth $25. All other attractions cost. I would not recommend to anyone. Go visit the other two displays in Branson. They are fantastic, worth your money and honest. Shame on you Sheperd of the Hills for not being honest with your guests. Very dissapointed!
