The room was dated, but it had a full office desk with a fridge. There was ample space to set stuff. Breakfast isn’t free, but they have a restaurant to order from. Starbucks is also available. It’s about 20-25 min from the convention center, about 10 min from the UCSD La Jolla campus, and a 10-min walk to the UTC mall (not walkable at night).

I would certainly not stay here again. I don’t usually write reviews but Marriott needs to know that this is severely damaging their brand. For the cost of the hotel, the rooms are in serious need of an upgrade. The worst part though is there is black mold all over the comforters of both beds in my room which makes me incredibly concerned how dirty the rest of this facility is. Please do something to address this location and fast.

When you are in a hotel for more than a day or two it is important that it feel like a “home away from home”. This property met that standard on our recent 6 day stay. Everyone was extremely friendly and eager to help. The M lounge breakfast was wonderful and the buffet option on the weekend was as well. Amuse, although a bit pricey (our cocktail anyway) was relaxing and the menu was varied. One night I wanted something that was not on the menu and the server (don’t remember his name) was able to get it. Truly above and beyond. Although $39/day for parking is also tough to take the garage was close and well lighted. The room was adequate. A bit small, but good bedding and shower. They do need more outlets and device charging in the rooms…. We had a housekeeping issue that was resolved promptly, and Paola the housekeeping manager called me to apologize, and “rescued” an item we left in the room after checkout. There was a maintenance issue that was taken care of promptly and tool shaped chocolates were left for us. Again, above and beyond. Specific compliments: Mr. Uribe the GM for his responsiveness, Stephanie at Amuse for her friendliness and sense of humor, Lonnie the valet for making me feel like an old friend within an hour and every time we saw him, and the breakfast hostess/server in the M lounge for her personal attention. We will be back.

I’ve been delighted to be served by Natalie at the hotels restaurant. She’s been very friendly and kind, professional and warm. Rooms were clean and well kept. Good was fresh and tasty. Great location. Overall a great hotel! Highly recommend.

My two boys and I enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable, the food at breakfast was delicious, and our server Neli was the absolute sweetest! She was super friendly, professional and accommodating for me and my young children. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!
