Spent 2 nights here for our 43rd anniversary. First, let me give you a little background, since I have found that reviews do very little good without context. We are both early 60's, middle class, and pretty down-to-earth, not fancy at all. Overall, we had a very good time at the Riverwalk Plaza Hotel. All employees were extremely nice, from the Valets to the front desk to the housekeepers. The hotel is older, and we heard several people complaining about this, although this fact did not bother us. It was nice to have a coffee shop attached, and the hotel is pretty central to most everything downtown, including the RiverWalk, although its entrance is a little distance from the busy heart of the Riverwalk. PROS: - We stayed in the Presidential Suite, which was a very large 2-room suite. The view was great, and the price was very reasonable. - The room was clean, and was nicely accommodating, with a nice big bed, which was perfect for my wife, but a little bit on the firm side for me. Having said that, I slept soundly both nights. - It is convenient to a quieter part of the Riverwalk, and to most downtown attractions. It is walkable, although not advised for older folk in the heat of the summer, and with the abundance of electric scooters, most everything is very convenient distance. - The Valet process was ultra-simple. You have a card with a barcode on it. When ready to get your car, just scan the barcode and by the time you are downstairs your car is ready. - Online coffee barista shop and diner, although the diner was closed in the early afternoon and the coffee shop closed a little early for us. Would have been nice if both were open all day and evening. - Ultra-friendly staff. - Great shower and large tub CONS - Toilet was very low - The tub was a garden tub with jets; however, we were told that the jets were disabled. - As with all hotels, the in-room drinks were way expensive. There was a snack machine right outside the room, but had to walk a bit to find a drink machine. - Bed was very firm to me Hope this review helps.

We stayed for three days, and I was very displeased with the overall cleanliness of the hotel. The amenities were sad. I am not a princess, I am a camper. I love sleeping in a tent! Still I was hoping for a splurging feel, like I was really treating myself and my family. I left disappointed.
