River Fox Train is located at 18095 County Road 117, West Sacramento, CA 95691. The boarding location can be found just off of Old River Road. The journey is round trip and you will return to where you board.
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time as the train will depart on schedule. There are no refunds for missed trains.
The Sacramento train ride travels roughly 28 miles along the picturesque Old Garden Highway beside the Sacramento river. Train rides last approximately 1.5 - 2 hours depending on the tour selected.
Yes, on-site parking is provided and free of charge.
Unfortunately, due to the historic nature of the train cars, they are not wheelchair accessible.
The River Fox Train doesn't have a dress code. But comfortable shoes are recommended.
The River Fox Excursion Train is suitable and a fun experience for all ages. However, the Weekender Express and Happy Hour train excursions are for adults-only (21+).
Yes! There are a ton of scenic views to see during the trip. The trip will give you unprecedented views of the Sacramento River and Yolo countryside.
Outside food and drinks are not permitted on board the train. However, you can enjoy outside food and drinks at the picnic table area at the train station. Additionally, the River Fox Train Concessions Car sells light snacks, alcoholic beverages, and non-alcoholic drinks. Must be 21+ and show ID to purchase alcoholic beverages.
Dogs are permitted aboard Weekender Express and Happy Hour Express (with dog ticket), in open-air cars only. Pets are not permitted aboard the River Fox Train Excursion.
Yes, the River Fox Train has several small, airplane, or bus-styled restrooms for guests.
