"Not worth the cost or burning any Wyndham points on, stay elsewhere."

The photos and description of this place are very misleading. As a Wyndham member I burned 15000 hard earned points on a property that is dumpy, not well kept and very outdated. The bath fixtures were like 1950s color pink, there was mold in the shower. The blinds in the BR did not work at all. The maintenance person came and had to break the blind in order to get it to come down to give us privacy and it looked like crap after he was done. The property was full. There was insufficient parking. I left and came back and could find no spot at all. One persons truck took up two spots due to its size preventing the one available spot to be used. The desk attendant told me to park in the lane beside the portico. Really? I protested fearing damage to my rental so they directed me to illegally park in a handicap spot. The outside of the property looks very unkempt...weeds and grasses growing everywhere. The walls were super thin I could hear snoring and the TV in adjacent room with relative ease. The attendant was friendly and tried to be accommodating, but this place is far from being worth $200+ a night and not worth burning Wyndham points on. I would not stay there again if it was the only place available. One of the worst Days Inns we stayed in. They all seem be going downhill.

My stay here was July 31st- Aug. 1. If you’re looking for a bed and a budget stay with no amenities this is it. You’re paying for the location. In short this was not a pleasant stay, and my expectations were low to begin with. For context, I travel to Fort Bragg and Mendocino often, but since I make my way up during fall and winter months I never had to deal with the price surge. I figured a budget stay wouldn’t be half bad if it’s still a central location. Made my way up on Weds and stayed at Seafoam in Little River: gorgeous location, quaint room, beautiful amenities and the most beautiful human-being of a host. I chose to stay in Fort Bragg at the Oceanside Inn for another second and third night because I love the area but did not want to spend over $200/$300 a night. I just found that unreasonable for the room quality you get at hotels in the area. To my disappointment I should’ve taken the loss and just paid the difference. I came to the hotel at about 2ish. As I drove in, I immediately noticed the buildings looked a lot older, and things just looked a bit more disheveled than the pictures showed. I decided in the moment that I did not feel safe staying at this location and opted to ask the receptionist to change my stay to one night. I went into the office to ask the receptionist 2 questions: 1. Is there avail for early check-in and 2. Can I cancel a second night that I had booked. The receptionist answers super coldly, dismissive and in an almost hostile tone. She explains there’s a $50 fee and that I would have to come back at a later time for check-in. Additionally she mentions a $15 early check-in fee that can only be paid in cash. All of this info being blurted out at once, I decided that I would clarify and ask about each of the things she mentioned. Mind you, I was not rude at all, and was truly just asking for clarification. She responds back, again rudely, dismissive and looking behind me says here let me get the room key. She asks me about my day and as I think she’s being polite, we’re turning a new leaf, she cuts me off and tells me she needs new credit card info. Mind you, she had not mentioned she was checking me in or charging my card. I guess in hindsight, I see what was happening but the whole exchange truly was still just taking me for a loop. I gave her updated card info, got my key and went about my way. The room: when I tell you as soon as I entered I noticed the door while locked was still cracked open, the tv receiver was hanging behind the tv unhinged and that these walls were paper thin, I could hear every word coming from my neighbors. To say the least I did not get one ounce of sleep. From the cars on the road, to the neighbors, to TV commotion throughout the night, there was no true sense of quiet or peace at this location. Upon checking out, running on two hours of sleep the first thing I noticed was that there was no receptionist. I noticed a doorbell and I rung it, as soon as I looked to the left I noticed the room key basket and dropped my key off. The receptionist came out from the back in full pjs. I gave her a smile, said thanks and sorry I had just noticed the basket. She gave me a rude stare as she checked the door key and I walked out. Whatever she was mad about was no longer my business after the night I had endured. Some context and grace: whenever I visit Mendo and Fort Bragg area I am reminded of the beauty of our Mother Earth and the communities we’ve built. Historically, white folx/settlers made the area unlivable for immigrant, natives and californianos. None of that is lost on me, so when I say this was the worst stay I’ve ever experienced I do not say that lightly. I understand this manager/host may be experiencing high stress dealing with rude and difficult customers all day but that does not give you an excuse to be spiteful and rude. On top of that, the pictures online should TRULY REFLECT the conditions here. I will never be staying here again and will make sure family and friends know about this. Wyndham, do not respond unless you are contacting me to make this situation right. Spread kindness folks!

"Didn't inform us of scheduled, all-night power outage, hid in office when the lights went out"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

One the second day of our stay (7/13/25) we returned to our room between 8-9 pm to find the whole property had no electricity. I went to the office to find out what was up, and they wouldn't answer the bell (I don't think it even worked without electricity) ... but they had hung a notice from PG&E in the window dated July 1 alerting them the electricity would be shut off that evening until 5 am. No answer after repeated bell-ringing and knocks. Had to go to drug store to buy a camp lantern and flashlight just to navigate steps, walkways and room. No electricity to power my CPAP machine, and I didn't sleep all night from worry and discomfort. Unfortunately it was late by this point and I'd already been charged $360 for a two-night stay in this slum so didn't have money to rent a different room. I tried to speak to the front desk in the morning and was ignored by the attendant as they were on the phone. I filed a complaint through booking.com and was eventually offered a $50 refund from this place, which I refused, and am waiting to hear more from booking.com's investigation of this incident. In addition to ignoring customers, not responding to an emergency situation and the overall slumliness of the place, the thing that upsets me the most is they'd been informed of this power outrage nearly two weeks in advance but still rented rooms out to paying customers. They didn't mention this while booking the room or in the slew of emails they sent before my arrival, while checking in or any time on Sunday before or after the lights went out. Horrible, possibly illegal conduct and complete customer service failure. I also doubt the fire alarms or anything else was working during the outage.

NO Wifi if you want to use a Chromebook, notebook, laptop etc. The lady at the front desk doesn't let you know before checking in. She says the wifi only allows connections to cell phones. Never would have got the roomhere if I had known.
