Description

Medieval Times is more than the nation's #1 and longest-running dinner attraction - it's a living link to the past where the glory, chivalry, and valor of old burst to life in authentic pageantry and thrilling tournament action.

While guests enjoy a hearty four-course medieval-style banquet (without silverware), six brave knights compete in games of skill astride magnificent Andalusian stallions. Lances splinter against shields of steel, broad swords spark, and a champion emerges, to the cheers of the enthusiastic crowd. The spectacle unfolds nightly inside a fully enclosed European-style castle.

The Feast:
The menu at Medieval Times consists of garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, sweet-buttered corn, herb-basted potatoes, the dessert of the Castle, coffee, and two rounds of select beverages. A vegetarian meal is available upon request.

Vegetarian/Vegan/Gluten-Free Meals:
The vegan meal includes a generous serving of hummus with carrot and celery sticks, a main course featuring three-bean stew with fire-roasted tomato and brown rice, and a choice of fresh fruit or Italian ice for dessert.

The vegetarian option includes all of these vegan dishes along with a side of warm pita bread.

Gluten-free meals available upon request include tomato bisque soup, hummus, carrot, and celery sticks, as well as the main course of roasted chicken, sweet-buttered corn, and herb-basted potato. You receive your choice of fresh fruit or Italian ice for dessert.

In addition, cocktail servers will be making the rounds and are happy to deliver a variety of spirits from the bar that guests request for an additional fee.

Allergy/Strobe Warning: Medieval Times is a live horse show in an enclosed arena. Persons with respiratory conditions, allergies, or asthma attend at their own risk. Medieval Times uses stroboscopic and pyrotechnic effects.

"Treat your horses better."

As someone with lifelong experience around horses, I was deeply disturbed by what I witnessed during the performance. I have never seen horses drool so profusely, which is often a sign of distress or discomfort. It was upsetting and, quite frankly, horrifying to watch. One detail that stood out to me was the difference between the horses. The black horse, who appeared to be spared from the more strenuous movements and was not outfitted with a tight bit, showed no signs of distress or drooling. In contrast, the white horse ridden by a female performer was drooling excessively throughout the show—something I found alarming. Several horses that were slobbering heavily also appeared to be wearing leg braces, which suggests the stress and strain caused by the forced, unnatural movements required in the performance. I can’t help but believe the choreography and equipment being used are causing unnecessary physical discomfort to these animals. I paid for a ticket expecting a fun, theatrical experience—not to watch animals in pain. While I enjoyed the energy, talent, and dedication of the human performers, who choose to do this work, I cannot support a show where animals appear to be suffering. Unless major changes are made to prioritize the horses’ well-being, I will not attend again, nor would I recommend it to others. Shame on Medieval Times for allowing this kind of treatment to continue. These animals deserve better.

"Fun Birthday Party"
TripAdvisor user rating 4.0 out of 5

We were invited to Medieval Times for our granddaughter’s birthday party. The kids loved it, and I loved that they were having so much fun. Lots of opportunities to spend money on souvenirs - before the show, after the show, and even during the show. Our grandson got a light up sword. Photos of groups are taken when you enter, and then are sold as you exit. Food is OK. My favorite was the tomato soup and garlic bread. A large half chicken was served, along with corn on the cob and a roasted potato. Take-home boxes were offered after the meal, which was nice. For dessert, there were small cream puffs. I was surprised that we also received a slice of yellow cake with fudge frosting, but the birthday girl’s parents opted for birthday cake (extra charge). Guests were given a choice of water, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, or lemonade. TIP: There is a lot of food, so take some home. Disposable wipes were given before and after the meal since you will be eating with your hands. My husband ordered a beer for himself and our son - he was surprised that the bill was over $60 (including the tip)! Part of the reason for this was that the beers were served in souvenir glasses. My husband saw other people with beer in plastic cups, but this wasn’t offered to him. TIP: Save some money and don’t get the souvenir cup. After the meal, our server asked us if we would like a cup of the ‘disgusting coffee’. I don’t drink coffee, but I wondered if she just didn’t have enough time to serve it? The show is primarily the knights on horseback competing for the king and queen. Personally not a fan, but again the kids enjoyed this. Be aware that it is loud. It was fun waving our flags and rooting for our sections’s knight. He won!!! There was also a short part of the show where a falcon flew over the audience. Nice to go once for the experience!
