Perfect resort for our family of 4. 9/11 year boys called it the best resort pool they've ever been to, and I can't argue! Great location, easy walk to the Poipu restaurant block and the neighboring hotels/beaches. 10/10. Restaurant was ok, but there are tons of options nearby.

My family and I tried Kōloa Landing for the first time (we’ve been visiting Kauai for decades) and enjoyed our stay. Rooms here are very spacious complete with a small kitchen to help save the cost of local restaurants. Probably the nicest feature (aside from their amazing pool) is the air conditioning which isn’t always available at other resorts! You really appreciate it in the summer. Only cons were the pool could’ve used some nearby drinking water stations, pool side bathrooms REALLY needed cleaning, and pool side dining is restricted to Holoholo grill (which is not that great)but there are ways around it if you are creative enough. In total we very much enjoyed our stay here!

Outstanding room with comfortable bed and sofa bed. Decent sized television in both the bedroom and living room. Housekeeping was excellent except for one day during our five day stay. Full kitchen, roomy bathroom, great blackout window shades. Food at the hotel was excellent. The hotel is farther from the beach than we anticipated and it was quite a walk, although driving was very quick. Saw 20 sea turtles on the beach around 6:00 in the evening at the Sheraton next door. Massages at the spa were so-so, but the fitness center was excellent. The large pool was amazing and the smaller pools much less crowded.

I am writing this review because I booked this place in large part on all the amazing reviews on Trip Advisor. Having stayed here for 4 days with my family, I can honestly say that I don’t understand these glowing reviews and I would not stay here again or recommend staying here. Here’s why: 1) The hotel is very dated. It feels like a motel with a nice pool and not a resort. The hallways are outdoors and dirty. The room itself has not been updated in many decades. Our King bed suite came with a sofa bed, which was incredibly uncomfortable. The carpet of the room is dirty and needs to be replaced. The bathroom feels like a public restroom. 2) the pools have some nice touches for kids, like waterfalls and slides but it’s extremely crowded, and the pool chairs are cheap, thin and uncomfortable. There is no beach really - you have to walk 10 to 15 minutes and there are no complimentary beach chairs or umbrellas. 3) the service was not good. The staff seemed nice but it was hard to find someone to take your order at the pool. When I asked for water, I was told to get it myself from a kiosk. No one sets up the pool chairs for you or even offers that service. Although no one came to take our orders at poolside, there is someone making the rounds to harass you if you don’t have your pool band. I had to call housekeeping multiple times to come and make up the room. There is no turndown service. When I asked for late check out, I was flatly refused. 4) all of the above may be OK if I wasn’t also paying $800 a night for what has been billed by Marriott as a luxury resort in their Autograph Collection. I am sure you can find a better hotel in Kauai at a much lower rate and have a better experience.
