Set along the sands of the famous Hotel del Coronado, Del Beach offers a full day of reserved seaside seating. Guests can enjoy bar-to-beach service that includes a delectable food and drink menu. A conference center is available for business guests.

This is a special hotel. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms were recently renovated. If you ever wondered what it would have been like to stay at a high end hotel 100 years ago this is the place. You feel like you stepped back in time. The staff is excellent. The pool is nice and the beach is large with plenty of room. The bar is excellent with an amazing open wall view of the property and beach. I never say this but the restaurants and surrounding area restaurants are very expensive. Go ahead and splurge for Nobu or another high end restaurant because there aren’t too many low price restaurants nearby. Breakfast is expensive so plan on pastries and coffee if you want to save.

As expected, the property is wonderful, and the people were fantastic. This property is truly a gem. However, for the money involved, I expected a much better first impression in the room. First, there was a brown stain on the carpet, absolutely unacceptable. This bothered me the entire time. Second, the room fridge was full of half empty food containers from the previous guests. Disgusting! And it was dirty and stained inside. Third, the body wash container in the bathroom was empty. Unbelievable! And fourth (not Del’s fault really), there was no swimming in the ocean due to raw sewage and industrial chemicals flowing up from Tijuana. Completely revolting! When the wind was right, you could smell it. Apparently this is a common issue. If there’s a fifth , it would be the general costs. My 16oz Dasani water was 8.25, that’s worst than Disney! I did love the overall stay, even with all these issues. I may give them another chance though.

First to readers, the Sun Deck offers an excellent view of the ocean and military planes above, especially if you sit at the rail. What is great that you can take up space all afternoon and not order anything and the staff could care less. We wanted food and drink and finally I went to the bar. From a stocky female bartender, I was told it was the customer's job to get the order at the bar and carry it back to the table. (I do not know what you do if your are handicapped). She pointed out that there poorly place fading stickers that told everyone at the Rail looking over the ocean to come to the bar and to handle their own drinks. To me, the place was poorly managed and disorganized. For a $74 bill for two drinks and appetizer, I would expect some service. Meanwhile, the rail is a great place to look at the ocean and not order anything.

What a wonderful experience at the hotel del. I am not used to the welcoming and kindness from Lady Diana at breakfast each morning. Traveling solo it is wonderful to be greeted by name, remember what you were doing the day before and asking about the day ahead. Ray, the waiter also kind. Order the beet and goat cheese salad from the Sun Deck. Front desk is available by text or stopping by. No phone number shown on the phone in the room. Text, response is nicer. It is an expensive stay, but long story short I used credits from Apple.

We had an absolute magical time for my birthday a the Hotel Del Coronado! The views are spectacular, gorgeous decor and really awesome service. Misa the concierge is the absolute it e BEST! She is the gem of this hotel. She was so attentive and friendly and made the trip even better. Thank you, Misa!! We hope to come back every year. I would live here if I could haha
