Holiday Inn - St. Augustine - World Golf, an IHG Hotel in St. Augustine, FL

Pretty much so-so Apparently under some remodeling. Some floors much nicer than others. Rooms were mostly pretty good. All appeared clean. The breakfast which they charge extra for was very bad. The food offered was basic. Bacon under cooked. Scrambled egg was nearly cold. The pancakes which were flat were so cold the butter would NOT melt. Kept running out of things. No coffee or hot tea water @6:30am. No cut fruit. Highly recommend not buying breakfast

This location charged me twice. Once in points and once on my credit card. I reserved the four night stay in IHG reward points. After leaving I see a $760 charge on my account AND missing 70,000 points! IHG customer service says it was points (which it was), the General Manager Christina Threadgill Gooden said it was made with money. I provided picture proof of the points missing from my account and the confirmation email confirming points as payment. She did not care. Refuses to refund me my money. I have had to file a dispute with my CC company which oddly enough the IHG customer service rep recommended. The upgraded “suite” we stayed in was a horror from the start. I’ll attach photos for proof. We used a confirm able upgraded to get the upgraded room which was one of the worst suites we’ve ever been in room 319. Whoever painted it got blue paint on the shower, the tile, the trim, inside the kitchen cabinets, the closet, the toilet plumbing. The cabinets were so filthy we didn’t feel comfortable putting our food in it. The AC didn’t work, I had to call the front desk because it was leaking all over the floor and I slipped in it after getting up the first morning. The second mini AC in the room leaked a HUGE puddle. The room would never get below 70 so we couldn’t even sleep well, that’s why we checked out an entire day early.  The tv remote wouldn’t work so I called the front desk they sent up an older gentleman (he was very nice) but he took 20+ minutes and two trips to finally fix it. I didn’t want to be rude, but he had the worse body odor. It took the room 30 minutes to air out after he left.  This was one of the worse experiences I have ever had at an IHG. I’ve stayed here in the past on business and it was a great location, but the newer GM Christina Threadgill Gooden has ran it into the ground as of late. PLEASE do not stay here until the GM is replaced.

What comes to mind is Motel 6 at Ritz Carlton prices. First I was upgraded from a room with a king bed to a room with 2 queen beds. I specifically wanted a king bed. They couldn't change me back. Flushed the toilet after use. No water in the tank. Tried to call front desk but phone worked as well as toilet. Went to front desk to get a different room. The new room was equally pleasant. The frig had rust. The hallway outside the room was filthy. The bed sheets looked like they had dried excrement. The couch was so far from the TV that the only way to watch and relax was from the bed. They put a dehumidifier in the room that alarmed at 3 in the morning. Met a gentleman at the elevator whose ac wasn't working. He seemed to have the same impression as me. I could say more but I have better things to do.

We travel a lot for business and pleasure and this is the worst hotel experience by far ever! 4th floor smells like urine and mold. They refused to switch my room to a different floor and there were plenty of other rooms available. Horrible customer service. Do not stay at this hotel !!!!

2 stars for the kind front desk woman, who honored the room type that we booked via our CC even though the hotel didn’t have that room type (we needed 2 queens and a sofa bed). Our first room smelled so badly of mold/mildew (4th floor) that there was no way I could let my kids and I stay in there (barking dog in the room next door aside). We were moved to a “suite” on the third floor that had a dehumidifier which made it tolerable but still musty. But basically everything was stained and/or rusty and I’m glad this was just a stopover for a sleep on our way to Orlando. IHG should give a promotion to the front desk staff and implode this place.
