The Absolute worst Hotel experience I have ever had. After a long flight with my family ( wife and 3 kids) we came to the Mystic Dunes main desk. After 30 minutes of "checking in" the front desk person call us a shuttle to transport us to our room. We get to our room and someone is already in there so clearly we have been given the wrong room. So we call support and they tell us to come back and that they will fix it for us. We go back and we speak with a different Help Desk person (Raja, he was the sweetest person and had proper customer service), he showed like he cared and gave us different room keys and sent us to the proper room. At this point my family and I have been traveling all day and have not had anything to eat or drink much yet so were finally excited to drop our bags and lounge. But the worst is yet to come!!! The shuttle takes us to our new room area ( 3 bedroom, 2 bedroom left door and 1 bedroom right door). As soon as I walk in I see those giant roaches scurry in to the room on the right. I was able to kill one ( pictured below). My kids however went to the room on the left and they saw a black snake of some sorts and just started screaming out ( we have a video of it, but only have a picture). So now I am fuming, we call the help line an they just say sorry and come to the front. So we go back for the third time to get to a room or some support. I finally get there and ask to speak with a manager. I spoke with Ms. Pacheco(Assistant Manager) and Bryan Verduga ( Manager). They heard our story and apologized and told us to sit down and they will bring the room keys to us and some support. They came back with our room keys to a place further away and 100 dollar voucher to their on site restaurant as amends. I was so appalled at their customer service attempt and maybe I was hangry. But 100 bucks is not even enough to cover dinner for my family of 5. I don't what they could've offered as amends to make up for my experience, but I just left. Also my biggest pet peeve was when I was speaking with the managers they whisper to each other in spanish discussing god knows what. TL;DR - giant roaches and snake found in room. Help desk was no help. Hotel could not care less if you stay or go, if you are okay staying in this Ghetto then welcome!

Very nice resort with a friendly & attentive staff! The rooms are spacious, clean, with all the amenities. We used the kitchen and laundry quite a bit. Which was a nice option if you’re traveling with kids. The pools were clean and my son had a ton of fun. Highly recommend!

"Beautiful Room, Terribly Slow Front Desk Service"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5
Reviewed May 29, 2025 NEW
This hotel had some hits and misses. Upon arrival, there was a line of 10 different parties waiting to check in with only two front desk workers. We waited probably 20 minutes to get the front to pick up our room keys. I went with a group of five people so we ended up with two separate suites that were connected by a main entryway, allowing easy access. My suite to myself was great, with a full kitchen, living room, and a big, comfortable separate bedroom. I liked how, geographically, the Hilton Vacation Club Mystic Dunes sat off to itself and wasn’t surrounded by other hotels within eyesight, like many hotels and resorts in the Orlando area. This made it more quiet and secluded. That being said, Mystic Dunes is close to Disney (about 6 miles) but quite a distance from Universal Studios and downtown Orlando, both places we were planning to go (truth be told: I didn’t book this hotel). So keep that in mind when booking. Overall, despite some hits and misses, I enjoyed my stay at Hilton Vacation Club Mystic Dunes and would consider booking again.

"Great vacation club with great staff and excellent service."

Great vacation club with great staff and excellent service. My 16-year-old son has several health problems, including four heart surgeries, an artificial heart valve, two stents in his narrowed pulmonary arteries, and multiple sclerosis, so he attends the Wilhelm von Humboldt online school with students from 36 countries around the world. This is why we were able to return to Orlando for six weeks from the end of March to mid-May, after having been there for three months last fall. This time, among other things, we stayed at the Hilton Vacation Club Mystic Dunes in Kissimmee for 12 days, and it was the best decision we could have made. As a Lifetime Diamond Member with more than 2,000 Hilton nights, I'm used to excellent service, not only in the US. That we received this great service at the Hilton Vacation Club Mystic Dunes was quite a surprise. After 14 years at the Hilton Vacation Club SeaWorld Orlando, I hadn't expected it. We booked a two-bedroom apartment at a very reasonable price using points. Check-in was great; there was no line and we were next in line. Nora, the employee who checked us in, was great; she was very friendly and helpful. The whole thing only took a few minutes; we were given all the information about the resort, a map, and our key cards. Wayn, the employee at the next counter, was also extremely friendly, as was the entire reception team. I had already contacted Nadine, the guest relations manager, by email and asked for a quiet apartment with good internet. My son's class in the USA runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and good internet access is important there. They kindly assigned us an apartment on the top 6th floor at the end of the hall in the second higher building to the right of reception. Thank you very much for that. In front of our apartment there was a small vestibule with a separate entrance door; to the right was our 2-bedroom apartment, and through the left door was a 1-bedroom apartment. This means that if you book a 3-bedroom apartment, you can comfortably use both apartments and still have an additional small vestibule with an entrance door. The doors are a bit difficult to open due to the tension from the automatic closing mechanism. I was surprised that the doors actually close quite quietly on their own. When we got to our apartment, we couldn't believe our eyes. On the large dining room table were two wrapped boxes full of sweets, snacks, chips, popcorn, chocolate, and drinks. That couldn't be for us; we're used to that from Asia and Europe, but we've never experienced anything like it in the US. So, just to be on the safe side, I went back over to the reception desk to ask Nora if it was really for us. She said yes, and we were really surprised. The apartment was about four times the size of our 1-bedroom apartment with a kitchen in the previous 29 days at the Homewood Suites International Drive. My son had a bright bedroom with two beds, a desk, a flat-screen TV, and a built-in closet. In the evening, you could see the fireworks from all the Disney parks in the distance. It also had a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and bathtub with an integrated shower attachment. The living room, dining room, and kitchen were all on one open floor. The dining room table had six chairs, and the kitchen was fully equipped with a large refrigerator-freezer, oven, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, two pans, two pots, heat-resistant glass cookware, plenty of plates, glasses, and cutlery, a can opener, a bottle opener, etc. Next to it, behind a sliding door, was a large washing machine and dryer. The living room had a large couch, two armchairs, two corner tables with lamps, two small tables on wheels, a base cabinet, and a flat-screen TV. In front of it was a large balcony with a screen, so you could sit there in the evening without being bothered by mosquitoes or other insects. There was also a table with four chairs and a ceiling fan. There was also a ceiling fan in the living room and bedroom, and of course, all rooms had air conditioning. My bedroom was next to the balcony, overlooking the golf course and the pool in front of the annex. There was a large bed, two bedside tables, and a vanity unit with a flat-screen TV on top. The large bathroom was open to the bedroom, with only the toilet in a small room separated by a door. The bathroom had a large bathtub, a double vanity, a shower, a storage unit, and a built-in closet with a safe, ironing board, and iron. When we saw all of this, we were really annoyed. We originally had a second, very cheap booking with points here at the same resort, which we canceled to be closer to Universal Studios, since we have annual passes there. So we booked the Homewood Suites International Drive for $100 a night. A big mistake, because the Hilton Vacation Club Mystic Dunes also offered a free shuttle service to Universal and Disney. But now it was too late, and we were at least able to enjoy the great service, the pools, and all the sports and activities for those 12 days. We didn't use room service during those 12 days; I always clean the apartment myself. The kitchen was perfectly equipped, so I was able to cook for myself every day. I threw the trash bags in the trash can outside by the elevators. Some guests put their doors out in the hallway, which I don't think is a good idea because it can attract unwanted animals. The elevator in the building was super fast; we never waited longer than 10 seconds, something I've never experienced in the US. There were four large pools on site, one right in front of our annex building. We always picked up clubs and balls for our round of mini-golf at the activity center. The staff there, like everywhere else in the resort, were very friendly and helpful. There are many sports and activities on site: a golf course, table tennis, basketball, pickleball, shuffleboard, Wii and Xbox game consoles, bike rentals, etc. The internet worked perfectly and at a good speed the whole time. We didn't notice anything about the timeshare at all; no one asked us about it. The friendly staff at the front gate always opened the barrier for me before I could open it myself. I simply held my room card out the car window beforehand. Thank you very much for that. You can get by without a rental car for your vacation here, but then you have to stock up on food and drinks beforehand. It's almost an hour's walk to Walmart. There are several Aldi supermarkets nearby; it's much cheaper there than at Walmart and the extremely expensive Publix. We always buy clothes, shoes, suitcases, and many other things at ROSS, which are much cheaper than at the premium outlets. Dear Nadine, thank you for the pleasant conversation and your help. Many thanks also to Shanta for the pleasant conversation. Nora from the front desk gave us a big hug goodbye the afternoon before we left. She is really incredibly nice and friendly. Dear Nora, we wish you and your family a wonderful time in Morocco. Many thanks to the entire team for this wonderful stay. We are already looking forward to the next 16 days over Christmas and New Year with you at the Hilton Vacation Club Mysic Dunes, we have been booked for several months.

"Horrible experience"

am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment and frustration regarding my recent stay at your hotel, which was not only unpleasant but deeply aggravating—especially considering it was Mother’s Day. I paid an additional $110 for a late checkout until 3:00 PM, expecting a peaceful and accommodating experience. Instead, I was repeatedly harassed by housekeeping—no less than FIVE separate times—being told I needed to vacate the room. Despite clearly stating I had paid for late checkout, they continued to knock and interrupt, making it impossible to relax or enjoy the extended stay I paid extra for. To make matters worse, my key cards were inexplicably deactivated before checkout time, forcing me to go all the way down to the front desk just to regain access to my room. This is absolutely unacceptable and completely undermines the convenience and comfort that any guest should be entitled to—especially one who paid extra. The entire experience felt chaotic, poorly managed, and frankly disrespectful. It’s baffling how such basic guest services could be so mishandled. I chose your property expecting a certain level of professionalism and hospitality, but what I received was far from it. I would appreciate a prompt response and a full refund for the $110 late checkout fee, as your staff clearly failed to honor the service. A formal apology is also warranted.
