"Don’t be fooled!"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

Based on the pics, and the name and the outrageous price, I was expecting a REAL resort. Instead, we got a glorified motel. Pool-disgusting. Tiki Bar- looked awful. Rooms were big, but dirty. And due to Covid-housekeeping wouldn’t change the dirty sheets that we checked into the room with. Luckily, they did bring me sheets and I changed the bed. No room service, no safe in the room, floors always dirty. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is due to the staff who are all very nice. Everyone was friendly and responsive - even the maintenance people. If you don’t mind spending over $200 a Night for a dirty motel room with great service, this is the place for you.

"Great value and amazing location"

We love the Guy Harvey. We have had 2 excellent summer vacations in a row here. The tiki bar is awesome, as are the bartenders. Nice, clean hotel with updates. The beds and pillows are super comfy, and you cannot beat the beach front location for the price. Jeanette at check in was great and a total life saver when we experienced a family emergency. We look forward to many more stays here.

"Terrible Service We had to Cancel Reservation"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5

I made the reservation for a whole week with the family through Expedia. I thought it was going to be amazing by the service I received from the actual hotel by the phone. They helped me a lot and I thought it was going to be breezy. Check in was great. I wish I could remember names but unfortunately I don’t remember the young ladies that helped me. Anyways, the next morning I had a question about breakfast and the server told me to ask the reception area because she didn’t know much about it.. I guess she was new or something. Anyways so I got to the reception area and the lady was super rude and not helpful at all. She had an attitude after everything I asked which made me get an attitude with her. They don’t wear name tags but If I knew, I would definitely mention her name. She was older, short hair. We went to the beach a little afterwards and got my mind off of it and had a great day. When we returned pretty late, we noticed nobody did the beds or took the trash out or anything so that was also a con. The next day, I let the front desk know about the cancellation and the only young girl there was also very nice. Anyway so the next morning for our check out, my father returned the key and let the other young girl know about the cancellation as well and let them know I would be to the front shortly but he was doing a curtious thing and actually bringing the keys to check in. The older lady was there and proceeded to ask my father questions and followed him all the way to the car after my father had already told her that I was going to arrive shortly and give all the information needed. She was asking very rudely and loudly which made my father uncomfortable and was irritating him. The next day luckily we found a hotel 10x prettier and cleaner and the staff is excellent. La Fiesta Ocean Inn and Suites. This place literally takes breakfast to you and looks 10x better from the inside and outside and the beds are extremely comfortable with no stinky odors like Guy Harvey. I let both the receptionists know that we had left from that hotel to this one and they said that they receive a lot of clients from that hotel! I was actually surprised and relieved that I was not the only one and that I wasn’t being dramatic. They said that they are actually very friendly and they’re here to make us feel comfortable and help us with whatever we need. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GUY HARVEY HOTEL in St.Augustine to ANYONE. Totally over priced for the little that they do. If you’re not a people person, DO NOT WORK as a receptionist. I’m a receptionist at a private dental office in Atlanta and even when I’m having one of my worst days, I DO NOT treat people like this and I’m the most helpful that I can be because that is my job and that’s what I’m getting paid to do!

The front desk folks are super nice, but the room was not ready at 3:00 and the line was 8 deep by 4:20. Check in was slow. The room is nice and very clean. The pool and tiki bar were a zoo. Too many people, too many kids, very crowded and noisy. Beach access is good, and the beach was nice. It is a very serviceable hitel, but definitely NOT a resort.

This is an older hotel. I would not call it a resort. If you like Marriott or Hilton you probably won’t like this place. Now, the staff were very kind. The check in process was extremely slow. The floors in the pet friendly rooms are slick and we slid into the AC unit because they were so slippery. Could be a hazard. The towel racks fell off the wall. You could hear everything in the hall. I am not a light sleeper and the noise did not bother me but you could hear it. A snake was crawling to the pool and someone killed it. That me be normal for this area but it was a first for us and I have been traveling to Florida for 40 years. The beach was beautiful and wide open. If you don’t mind a basic hotel this will be fine for you. If you prefer luxury You may want to go somewhere else.
