"Good on some points"

Hotel rooms are LARGE! That was what we needed. Daily housekeeping great. The scenery is definitely serene. A plus is the quick walk to Colonial Williamsburg as well as The Taverns for meals ( btw entrance to Colonial W is free…. Unless you want to enter particular buildings) Anyway, THE GRIFFIN has no other amenities on site: must walk to WILLIAMSBURG Inn next door or Williamsburg Lodge /Marriott further down to checkin/ swim/eat/drink at lounge / AND pickup pizza delivery! It’s as if one doesn’t exist at The Griffin- GPS takes you to the INN to checkin ( btw THAT place is drop dead gorgeous/ wonderful staff) Now THAT is the only reason to not return there- schleping 3 kids to eat / swim was a chore ( pool is at separate Spa building! Also confusing :/)

"Tranquil Location and Massive Rooms"

We were in Williamsburg for an event and chose the Griffin because of its location and the decent reviews we read online. It was our eleven year old daughter’s first time in Williamsburg and we did all of the touristy things, however, my husband said when we go back to Williamsburg we will spend more time at the hotel enjoying the amenities and the golf. The one day we were able to use the pool was relaxing. The food at the snack bar was exactly what we needed to extend our time at the pool and tasted great (as did the drinks). Our room was massive and gave enough space for the three of us to spread out. While paint could have been touched up in the bathroom area, the room had everything we needed and more. The AC was cranking and kept us cool in record breaking heat. The grounds surrounding the hotel are absolutely gorgeous as well. I received a text the day before our arrival welcoming us and asking if we had any requests. Check-in was seamless and we were able to store our bags on check-in day to go to Busch Gardens. Bell services was friendly and efficient. The concierge answered all our questions. We were so happy we chose the Griffin. It had the benefit of being an official Williamsburg Hotel, excellent location in the middle of the historic capitol yet secluded and tranquil, as well as superb amenities, and amazing service. You can’t go wrong staying at the Griffin.

Beautiful inside and out! The staff is so friendly and kind! This was our second time staying here at The Griffin and have not been disappointed in anything! Thank you for providing such a lovely place for families to enjoy Colonial Williamsburg!
