Excellent resort, great service, beautiful grounds. Highly recommend! We stayed a few days north shore, then ended our trip in Poipou for a few days.

"Swimming options for families is top notch!"

The amenities at this hotel are top notch. The pool was never overly crowded, and we really appreciated not having to get up early to reserve a seat. That was never an issue. The access to a man made lagoon and access to the ocean were awesome too. There was also a gym, a spa and a pathway to another beach/small town about a mile away. The lap pool at the spa was not free for use while at the gym, which I think was a miss because my husband and I would have swam laps but we did not want to pay $50/person to do so. This should have been included in the hotel price. In general, we enjoyed our stay and the location. The pool and swimming options were the best parts!

For the price you pay you will not be impressed. Rooms are tired, amenities are sold to non hotel guests making use by guests very difficult.

"Expected bit more"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5

Was maybe expecting a bit more from rated as one of the best Hyatt in Hawaii. Hair on the floors and around towel location. No slippers in first room. In second suite that we had, One pair of slippers were new other pair were used. Drink credit for our room not being ready on checking as a Guest of Honor was a nice. Views great if your room had it. Ours did not. I love ocean water and even in the winter the water is just soo nice. But the sea lagoon, had a bit much chlorine for a salt water lagoon. Not sure if that is just the way it has to be with all the kids and all.

There are so many things to love. The best is of course, the people. The staff here is incredible. From the valet, to the front desk, housekeeping, dining room, the pool, every person we encountered was gracious and warm hospitality personified. Management here must be incredible because that doesn’t happen by accident. You will feel welcomed, appreciated and special. The grounds are gorgeous. We would go get our morning coffee and watch the sunrise on the terrace and then wander along the path next to the beach back to our room. It was magic. The resort was full but it still felt like it was ours. There is tons of space for special moments. The pools are beautiful. There is an adults only pool but the main pool and lagoon are so large that even with a fair amount of kids, it didn’t feel crowded or like they were taking it over. This is a large property and there is room for everyone to have a special time. If you want to take things up a notch, renting a beachside cabana is incredible. The view is astonishing and it’s a fantastic experience. If you go this route, make arrangements when you make your reservation because they sell out in advance. If you don’t, there were plenty of lounge chairs up until 11:30 or so. Things got tight after that but you could still find a spot. You don’t need to go down at 6:30 am and throw a flip flop on a spot, so to those who are doing that…you can stop and still find six chairs together in the shade at ten and it’s not helping make the world a better place. The rooms are great. They are spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are a shower/tub combo but it’s a great setup and there is his and hers vanities which is a nice touch that was very appreciated. This is amazing property for a honeymoon, couples getaway or a family vacation. I can’t wait to come back and I bet I regret mentioning how amazing the beach cabana experience is.
