"A Great Hotel Experience"
TripAdvisor user rating 5.0 out of 5

This is our 3rd stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa. We spent our honeymoon there in 1998. This year the hotel is celebrating their 35 year anniversary! The service and rooms are great, and we especially like the ocean view with a balcony. From the balcony we can watch and video humpback whales. The grounds are beautiful, including walking trails through the property that extends for miles each direction, so there's a lot to see. Going east there's the bay with a beach and large rock that some jump from, and the trail extends past that point. Going west you can view turtles swimming in the lava rock. On some days there's a Hawaiian Monk Seal that beaches out front on the hotel's beach. Don't miss visiting Poipu Beach about 1.5 miles away (there's another walking trail) to see many Green Sea Turtles that come in to shore to rest each day around 12:30 PM and 5:30 PM. We typically see 15 - 30 sea turtles, although we've heard up to 80 can be there at one time. It's an amazing experience to stay at this great hotel.

The Grand Hyatt Kauai far exceeded our expectations. We had heard countless rave reviews from our Globalist friends, many of whom consider it one of the best Hyatt properties in the U.S., so we arrived with high hopes—and we were absolutely not disappointed. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the team went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. The staff anticipated our needs and responded immediately to everything, making us feel like royalty throughout our visit. The grounds and property are even more breathtaking than the photos; the design captures the lush beauty of Kauai perfectly. I honestly wish I could give more than a 10-star review. We visited another “top-rated” hotel during our time on the island, and the contrast was night and day. We were beyond happy with our stay and sincerely hope to return someday.
