"Five Star Spring Break at Grand Hyatt Kauai"

We had an absolutely wonderful spring break stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai with our 7- and 9-year-old daughters. From the moment we arrived, the entire experience felt warm, welcoming, and truly family-friendly. The resort itself is beautiful, with so much to do that our kids were never bored—especially the pool area and water slide, which quickly became the highlight of their trip. A special shout-out to Gregg, who made the water slide experience so much fun for our girls. His energy and kindness really stood out—he’s a true gem and someone we genuinely enjoyed getting to know during our stay. We also spent a lot of time in the Grand Club, where the staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and always going out of their way to make us feel comfortable. It made a big difference for our family and added an extra level of ease and enjoyment to our trip. Overall, this was a fantastic family vacation, and we left with great memories and very happy kids. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this resort to anyone traveling with children.

"Amazing hotel, amazing location"

This was our first time in Hawaii and it was a superb experience. the hotel is very large and slightly outdated but the overall stay was excellent. Breakfast is a classic buffet affair and a good selection but the fruit never tasted great. We only ate at one restaurant and it was not great, so we ate out in local places - better value and options. The whole hotel goes quiet after 9pm so if you want lively, then this is not the place for you. The pools are amazing and varied and the lagoon pool is unique and fun to swim in. the beach is on your doorstep and feels very private. the rooms are large but felt out dated but still comfortable and perfect for what you need. I like the touch with the refillable water bottles. It is not cheap to drink and eat, so be prepared to spend some money whilst you are there. The shuttle bus was free and we used it multiple times to go out and eat and explore. In summary, stunning location, great staff but not the uber luxury that we were expecting.

I was very disappointed with my stay at this resort. The property feels outdated and not well maintained, which took away from the overall experience. Unfortunately, many of the staff members came across as unwelcoming, and even simple requests—like asking for ice or water—were declined. The spa experience was particularly disappointing. The massage and overall service did not meet expectations and ended up being the least enjoyable spa visit I’ve had. Dining was another area that fell short. The food quality was inconsistent, portions felt small for the price, and overall value was lacking. Similarly, the drinks did not meet expectations given the cost. Overall, this was not the experience I was hoping for, and I would not choose to stay at this resort—or another Grand Hyatt property—again.

"Grand Style"

This was our second stay at this property and our experience was better than the first time. I wondered why and realized it was the room location. This property is "grand" and if your assigned a room on the outer wings it is an effort to get around to the main areas like the pool, restaurants and lobby area. On arrival we upgraded and got rooms around the pool area for a "partial ocean view" which was amazing and so close to the main areas. The GH seemed the same as we remembered but what stood out was dinner at Stevenson's Library for sushi/sashimi, specifically the sashimi, best ever. The room as more than spacious and clean every day. Breakfast at Illima Terrace was very nice just pricey for the options. We were a party of 6 , at $50 per times 5 days that adds up fast. We had to try once then went local. Go into town and get some malasada's or loco moco. You will be more than happy and way ahead. The really pleasant part was the team overall. From the car port, (Adam) baggage, front desk (Lyn?) breakfast servers, pool bartenders (Chad), housekeeping all were nice and took a real interest that we had a pleasant stay. The only outlier was the Stevenson's servers. They seem cold and average for that caliber of restaurant. Overall the location on the island made the GH a great place to stay in Kauai. There is something for everyone.

"Best honeymoon ever!"

My husband and I used this resort for our honeymoon and we certainly don’t regret it. The room was nice, we had a great view, and we were right by the pools! The pools are amazing with lots of different places to sit. They have poolside servers so you never have to leave if you don’t want to. Their beach access is basically a private beach. Not super busy but we say sea lions resting on the beach almost every day. The restaurants at the resort are delicious but expensive. I personally think Stevenson’s Library is worth the price!
