My wife and I had a wonderful trip at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. The pools and scenic views were amazing and the service was awesome throughout the property. Highly recommend getting in on the Costco promotion if you can, this gave us free resort fees, free parking, a $300 resort credit, and other benefits. If dining, I recommend making a reservation at Tidepools. We had a great dinner there during our stay. We also got great service after check out, as we were allowed to use all the facilities all day prior to our red eye flight home.

This was our first time at this establishment. With 2 little kids, we decided to end our 7-day trip on Kauai with 2 days at the Grand Hyatt, just so that our kids can enjoy the water slide. However the slide was out of commission on both days that we were there, which we were not made aware/updated until we checked in. On top of that, we were put in a room far from the lobby, and across from a broken elevator (that would take us to the pool area), so to get to the pools, we'd have to either go through an emergency exit, or walked all the way back to the lobby to get to the pools. With 2 little ones, this was a bit of a challenge. The hotel itself was very nice and grand, the staff was great, the pool area and public beach area were good. Overall, it was not a good first impression, and unfortunately not a good end to our time on the island.

We were able to enjoy this amazing resort for only 2 days. Every staff member was cheerful, friendly, and helpful. We loved seeing the parrots in the lobby garden. All the gardens were amazing, and obviously well tended. Everything was very expensive, but it was all first-class. As with all resorts, there are fees for everything. We could not have afforded to stay there if we didn't use Chase reward points. But it was a wonderful way to celebrate my 80th birthday!
