"Great, but Lacking Some Classic Four Seasons-ness"

The Four Seasons Boston is, like all Four Seasons properties, lovely and well-situated geographically. For the most part the team was great and I appreciated how fantastic they were with my family. For kids, by the way, the hotel has this great toy closet at check-in, and The Vault on each floor with complimentary snacks was a huge hit. My main issue came at check-out with a billing miscommunication. While not a huge issue, I left the experience feeling disappointed that the hotel did not seek to easily address the situation and create a positive result. My experience at Four Seasons is they never let the customer leave unhappy. I assumed that was a company-wide principle, but it didn’t apply in this case.

My husband was staying here for business, and since my son happens to be at BU… of course I had to tag along. And the second my husband said he was staying at a Four Seasons, it was a no-brainer. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted with smiling faces and the kindest people. The hotel is absolutely beautiful — whoever designed it truly did an incredible job. I love everything about it. The location is perfection: right by my favorite street, Newbury, with a gorgeous park across the way and the best shops and restaurants steps from the lobby. But I have to say… one of my favorite touches is The Vault. Every floor has its own little room stocked with snacks, chips, nuts, candy, sparkling water, still water, and ice. Such a fun, thoughtful touch — we LOVED that room. 😂🙌 We’ll be staying here every time we come to Boston. FS Boston, you have our hearts!

"Very nice, though very expensive"

Right off, you’re paying for the location in Back Bay along the Public Gardens. You’re within walking distance of some great restaurants and shopping. I’ll also say the staff at the hotel was superb. We had a short stay as part of a pre-cruise package. Our room was very clean and well lit, something I’ve recently complained about at other hotels. The bathroom was fine, no obvious deficiencies. The room decor was a bit strange, or should I say unexpected. For me, the bed was too soft. But I like an ultra firm mattress, so this is my common complaint. Others will appreciate it. Overall a nice stay with a special “well done” to the staff.

"Not A True Four Seasons Feel"

We stayed here for a wedding weekend, and we picked the hotel for its location. It is very well situated near restaurants, shopping and the famous Newberry street. I had a mini suite (disappointing, not big enough and the bathroom had only 1 sink). My kids had a regular room which was quite big. The usual Four Seasons' service was lacking, the hotel itself is outdated and getting old, wear and tear was obvious in many areas of the hotel. Towels were thin and torn, a very disappointing experience, specially that it charges a lot. The breakfast area was nice, they had a good breakfast menu and the service at breakfast was very good. I think the hotel has a huge potential but unless they improve the quality and do some renovations I doubt I will go back.

My wife and I enjoyed a brief one night stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston in October 2025. Everything worked liked clockwork -- we were graciously offered an upgrade to a Garden View Executive Suite, which was delightful (note, for that room category, the bedroom does not have a window -- hard to quibble when you've been upgraded, though). The couch, easy chair, and two desk chairs in the living room were very comfortable. HVAC worked flawlessly. The bed was Four Seasons comfortable. Service, both in Coterie (the lunch and dinner venue) and in Aujourdhui (breakfast) was excellent. The food was great. I asked for an extension on check out, which was graciously granted. An unusual feature of this hotel is the "Vault" on each floor -- a room with snacks for the taking, and a few beverages. Nice touch. A few minor criticisms -- the lighting in the living could be better (dim bulbs in most of the lamps), the flow of water in the shower is adequate, but certainly not strong (take the water restrictors out!). And, it would sure be nice if the formal bar and restaurant were re-opened again. That said, I'd gladly come back.
