The hotel is in a great location, and the staff is very friendly. They offer breakfast, late afternoon snacks, and drinks. The breakfast and late afternoon snacks could be improved. The room was cleaned and had plenty of space. Overall, it was a great experience. I would stay here again if I am back in the city.

"Overall nice stay but use a few improvements"

My husband, adult daughter, and I just stayed at the Drury for 5 nights a week ago. Overall, it was a very nice stay. We usually opt for AirBnB's but we were in New Orleans for Jazzfest and wanted to stay close to one of the shuttle bus stops. The hotel itself is situated in an ideal location, just a 10 -15 minute walk to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street, and a CVS and Rouse's Market three blocks away around the corner. We did not rent a car but walked and used Uber/Lyft. We made use of the pool, hot tub, and exercise room, as well as the coin operated laundry. The washer and dryer both take $2 in quarters, which you can get from the front desk but you must give them cash as they won't take credit card or charge to your room. There is a detergent dispenser for $1.50. The included breakfast was good for a hotel breakfast, better than Residence Inn but not as good as Embassy Suites. Every morning, they had the same foods - scrambled eggs (I think they were real), sausage patties, biscuits, homefried potatoes, waffle and pancake makers, breads, cereals, oatmeal, apples and bananas. They have a microwave which was nice since the food wasn't very hot. I was wishing for cut fruit and plain greek yogurt. My husband would have loved peanut butter for his english muffin. The coffee was hot and pretty good. After eating this for 3 days we were pretty sick of it and went to Mother's down Poydras which is a New Orleans institution and very good. We did go to the "kickback" a couple times during our stay, but mostly enjoyed the drinks. We did grab a little food to snack on but didn't use it as an actual dinner. Make sure to bring some cash to use for tips when you get your drinks. The free popcorn doesn't start until 4pm, which was only a little disappointing as we thought it was an all day thing. We had one meal at the bar area one evening when we got back too late for the kickback. It was very confusing as the bartender was not friendly and it took a minute for us to realize we have to go up to the bar to get a menu, then order and pay there. The food was ok. The pizza tasted like frozen pizza. The buffalo chicken salad was really good as was the hamburger. The front desk staff was not particularly friendly and as I said the bartender wasn't either, but everyone else was. The folks working at breakfast were very kind and sweet. The housekeeping staff always smiled and greeted us. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which had two queen beds and in the living room there was a sleep sofa. The living room was quite large but only had a desk with chair, the sofa, and the tv. There should have been a love seat as well as a bistro table with a couple chairs. We got some fried chicken from Gus's (highly recommend) and it was a little awkward to eat it. The entire place could use a face lift.

We did our homework when searching for the perfect hotel in New Orleans to celebrate my birthday and settled on The Drury Plaza for their wonderful reviews and we are SO happy we did. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon after a $40USD Uber from the airport, shortly before 3pm. We were greeted by a wonderful lady with a beautiful smile at reception who told us our room was ready, she noticed on my ID that it was my birthday and kindly upgraded us to a gorgeous suite with vaulted ceilings and a living area. The room was complete with a coffee maker and a fridge, that we utilized. A couple blocks away was a grocery. We walked around the French quarter for a couple of hours before heading back to the Drury Plaza. On the way back we heard music so we went over to the weekly community live concert that had all sorts of New Orleans food and drinks - what a find! We attended the happy hour which was very well stocked. Each adult is allowed 3 alcoholic beverages per night and as many snacks as you would like that included, popcorn, nachos, pasta, sauces, chicken, etc.. That night we had reservations at Peche, it was good, we had the whole fish, some sides and wine, but we would not go back. The next day we had breakfast (included) at the hotel, it had many things to choose from, I opted for scrambled eggs with cheese & salsa and biscuits and gravy. We sat outside, it was a beautiful morning. One note: The manager was walking around at breakfast, happily checking in with guests and wiping down tables - we were both so impressed by this leadership! His professionalism really stuck with us. After walking around the French Quarter, French Market and Frenchman for a good part of the day we went back and enjoyed the pool area. There are pool towels just as you enter the outdoor area and we enjoyed our time in the sunshine chatting it up with other hotel guests. We only stayed two nights/three days. The morning of our departure, I saw the gal that had checked us in and thanked her for the lovely upgrade - it made me feel special on my birthday. Thank you Drury, we will be back and when traveling the US we will make a point to look for other Drury's in other cities.

This hotel is a gem! Close to everything, excellent service - especially from Ty. We had a large party coming from a cruise and they took excellent care of us. We stayed in a gorgeous suite. A few things went wrong but they made them right! I will stay here again any time I’m in a Drury city!

"Quaint hotel with great rooftop pool!"

This place was great. Old architecture and ambiance, yet will all the Drury Inn extras. Has a wonderful rooftop pool which was awesome at night. Super breakfast and dinner (including local gumbo!) and a courtyard outside to sit and eat at, with the Streetcar going by periodically, adding to the New Orleans ambiance. Walkable and safe, we walked half mile or so to Jefferson square and St. Louis cathedral in the French quarter, and can also take the streetcar. Price was better than most, and Drury Inns are always top notch in quality and service!
