This Silicon Valley hotel is approximately 6.2 miles away from boutique shopping at Santana Row. San Jose State University is around 7.2 miles away, while the San Jose Convention Center is estimated at 7.8 miles away.

This completely non-smoking, green hotel offers spacious, contemporary rooms that feature HDTVs with movie channels. Dine at one of the on-site restaurants or enjoy in-room dining. After being greeted by a warm chocolate-chip biscuit upon check-in, guests can relax in spacious accommodations featuring private balconies and dual vanities with marble countertops. Each room also includes a large study desk.

Enjoy a casual breakfast at Sprigs or sample California-inspired sushi and seafood at Sushi & Sake Bar. Frankly, this property should not be marketed as a Doubletree by Hilton location, until it receives a full renovation of the room spaces. The lobby and public areas are acceptable, however the rooms haven’t been modernised since it was built I expect in the early 70’s. It’s obvious the owners are focusing on the conference / event space rather than the rooms. A/C is weak, if working at all, carpets are old and stained, rooms smell musty and old, bathroom is ancient with low pressure on the shower. Overall it’s quite a depressing location to stay, I’ve never seen such a bad hotel on the Hilton list. It’s such a shame as the rooms themselves are huge. It would be a great destination if renovated. Hotel does also not include laundry and parking is extortionate with no discount for guests. I am seriously considering to complain to Hilton directly about the state of this property. Even as a Hilton Diamond member, they had nothing better to offer me. I dread to think of the experience if I wasn’t a Honours member.

Don't be fooled by the nice lobby. Rooms are disgusting. Dirty old carpet, and desperately needed update. Paid top dollar for an absolutely disgusting room. Talked with manager and he said owners are aware and refuse to update the rooms. Hilton ought to remove their name. Absolutely embarrassing.

Hate to say it, but this hotel room was not nice at all. I'm giving 2 out of 5 only because the lobby bar was nice. I don't think I've ever seen a property more in need of a renovation than this one. The carpets, bedding, decor were all REALLY dated. If that were the only problem, I could live with it. However, the bathroom was dirty. There was hair all over the floor and a used bar of soap in the shower. This is not what I expect from a Doubletree property.

Location convenient but overall disappointing . The hallway carpets were dirty and stained and our room was the same. Obviously have not been cleaned for years . Bathrooms were clean , beds were ok quality. We use to stay here many times back in the early 2000’s and it was really nice. Needs updating. I realize now the price reflects the overall quality . Complained to manager - he said many people complain and corporate is aware - but yet nothing is done .

The next time I’ll book a room at the Motel 6. At one time, this was a great hotel. The carpet had stains all over it and was very dirty. The beds and bathroom were fine, along with the lobby area. We complained to the desk person in the lobby. He said he has received several complaints and passes on them along to management, but he said they don’t seem to care and do nothing about making any improvements. Too bad, I’m no longer a customer of the DoubleTree, San Jose, CA.
