Check in: Double tree Hilton Check in: Check in process was nice and smooth. I was bummed that the club access level was all booked up. This was the last second trip so I completely understand and just shows how popular a hotel this is. Originally we got a room facing the freeway, which was somewhat loud. This was on the fourth floor. We switched to the sixth floor thankful that they were able to change rooms for us for more quiet room, facing the parking lot and more updated carpet. So very grateful for the accommodation. Thank you so much Shu for the help! Room: everything in the room is uVERY outdated. - There are no usb or type c charging ports. - The tv is approximately 32 inch, very small compared to most hotels, and very old tech, it also has red line across screen blurring picture. Picture is very dark and hard to see, sound quality is poor. - The closet door was broken/off track - No bag in closet for clothes/dry cleaning - For those with young children, I wouldn’t recommend staying in the balcony rooms. They do have a lock for the balcony sliding glass doors though it is easily unmatchable and well within the reach for toddlers. My three-year-old would be able to unlock that in a heartbeat. Additionally, the way the balcony is designed. It has the perfect design for foot holds, I know my toddler who enjoys climbing anything and just seeing this balcony, frightened me. He was not with me on this trip otherwise I would’ve requested a room change. Hotel: - Outdated, carpet is stained and verging thread bare in some areas. - Sprigs restaurant: ordered the Salmon Eggs Benedict, one of the most delicious Benedict’s I’ve ever had. Literal perfection - My son and dad had the Fremont and San Jose omelettes both were great. All three meals came with ripe fruit. - Services was fantastic, both at the desk and through text. Seriously Shu is one in 1 million, as I was checking out, I handed her my sons bag for luggage pickup and I told her about how we had come up here to see my son for 24 hours as he was here for a work conference. She immediately understood what my heart was going through, having my son move out of state for work and only being able to see him for one short day. Her empathy in that moment of emotional turmoil for me was huge. - The cookies… dear God the cookies!! Chocolate Chip and Walnut melty goodness. So amazing, I’m hooked. Please sell start marketing these. 😂 All in all, I’m very impressed with this Double Tree, customer service is top notch, the hotel may be outdated but it is clean, quiet and exactly what we needed. "Concerning Security Issue and Outdated Rooms"

The lobby is grand and updated. The rooms not so much. The carpet is worn, the decor outdated, and bathroom fixtures need to be replaced. The electrical outlets were broken and the room did not have a mini fridge or safe. When we tried to access our room we were able to open the door but the bar was across it on the inside. It turned out that two non-guests had made their way into the room. I went down to report it and security was called. Security arrived way too late to catch them. We were given a worse room on a lower level right next to the freeway. Hilton Hotels clearly are not what they used to be.

"Careful with Late night check in 1 hour delay"

After a 5-hour flight that was delayed, I called ahead to confirm with the Hilton San Jose DoubleTree that I was still arriving. The front desk assured me my reservation was in their system and everything was set. When I arrived at 2AMI was told they were running a nightly audit and I wouldn’t be able to check in for an hour. Despite having a confirmed reservation, I was forced to wait in the lobby, exhausted after a long travel day. I’m genuinely surprised that a major hotel brand is still operating with a system that locks guests out during a routine process. Very antiquated. I wouldn’t stay here again based on this experience.

"Lacks love, but it ticked a box for the night."
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5

Meh. Thats how I would sum up my stay. I did one night on a business trip, it was convenient and for 1/2 nights you could tolerate it, but it’s just in need of some love. The rooms are very tired, the bed creeks every time you roll over, the duvet is a blanket in between two sheets, pillows are old and lumpy, tired furniture and dated deco. The soundproofing is also poor, can hear cars outside and the person in the room above having a wee in the night (also must have jet lag). A good size though. One of my biggest annoyances was the fact the room had no fridge, I like to put bottles of water in it and I have medicine I have to store in it, thank god I brought a a cool bad. Odd though, usually a standard thing. Everywhere is in need of a a good paint, new floorings and just a general modernisation/ spruce. I didn’t eat here, it looked pricy. Pool area is pleasant enough just not like the published pics as they were taken at the start of time. Would I stay here again? Maybe? I would certainly have a look at the other options first before hand though, but as a last resort, I am sure it is still a better option than others.

"This hotel is not serious"

My wife and I like to stay and leave our car here whenever we fly out of San Jose. We stopped by the front desk to ask about the airport shuttle. This young lady behind the desk was full on lying down on her high back big boss chair answering the phone while clicking away on her personal cellphone like she was at home. Never acknowledged us with a glance. Maybe she was sitting so low she couldn't even see us haha! We had to leave to catch our flight after standing there for a while. I'm giving 3 stars only because the shuttle drivers are always very nice and everyone else we had interacted with at the front desk in the past are always friendly and professional. Hope this was just a one-off.
