"Good hotel for the price"
July 2016
The All Star Movies Resort was good. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was always clean. The restaurants were decent and served enough variety that everyone in my family found something to eat. There is nothing glamorous about the hotel but it works if you want somewhere nice and clean to sleep. The pool is fine. There is no slide at the pool but big enough for everyone to enjoy. Overall, it was a good experience but nothing fancy. The one thing you should know is that if you book with reserve orlando, you are NOT eligible for any meal plans because of the contract that reserve orlando has with disney. I'm not sure if you save money or not using the meal plan because we were not eligible. They don't tell you that when you book your reservation.

"Nice stay pre-cruise"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

We stayed at All Star Movies for 2 nights before our Disney cruise. The bed was comfortable and the murphy bed was okay. We liked the fact that the room was refurbished and carpets were removed. There was a good amount of storage for 2 people. The food court had some good options although we spent a full day at Disney Springs. The only con for us was the shared buses with other All Star resort properties. I wish Disney would not do that. Each resort is busy enough to have their own buses. We may stay there again but our preference is POP Century for better transportation. We did like the food court better at All Star Movies than POP Century though.

We have been to Disney many times and have always stayed at Pop Century which was not available. All Star Movies is great. Wonderful theming, we chose a 3rd floor room but upon checkin were issued a first floor. Went to desk and they were very helpful changing to a 3rd floor. We like quiet rooms and usually 1st floors are not quiet. Food at its food court is not the best but it will get the job done. Had a wonderful time with hubby for our anniversary.

"Caring, Kind and Fun - The Best Disney Value Resort"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

My wife and I stayed at All Star Movies from Oct 25 - Nov. 2nd. We had a preferred room in the Fantasia section. The room had been recently renovated, and looked exactly like the new room we had stayed in one year prior at Pop Century. Needless to say, we love the overall look, feel and comfort of these new value rooms. The Fantasia area is charming and close to the buses, food court, and the magical Fantasia pool. We also had the option of turning down Mousekeeping, and received about $70 US in Disney gift cards as a result. A great offer. However, none of this is why I’m writing this review. I wanted to say thank you, on behalf of my wife Courtney and I, to the duty managers Sonia and Alex, the lifeguards and First Aid staff at the Resort, and to the Reedy Creek Fire Department, who came to our assistance twice when my wife had a terrifying experience with heat stroke. We cannot thank everyone enough for how you treated my wife and I during this ordeal, from Sonia’s gifts of food, Gatorade, and fresh fruit, her calls to check up on her throughout the week, and the fast-passes we received to make up for lost time. Because of this emergency, I can’t say we had a magical vacation, but Disney certainly tried to make us feel as good as they could, and for that I am extremely grateful. Disney’s response to our medical emergency was excellent, and why I will forever recommend people stay at this wonderful resort.

"No Magic Overpriced Junk Affair"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed December 04, 2019 NEW
We visited the Disney parks end of November-December. Our stay in the remodeled All star movies resort was not magical at all. Room sizes are small. They don’t even give you a microwave oven, because they want you to buy junk food from their food court. In the rooms they don’t even restock the coffee/ tea packets after the first time even if you are staying for many days. No healthy choices in food and all the food is junk and highly overpriced. Drinking soda is highly encouraged. Looks like they have taken crusade to get children of America to get them hooked to junk food and soda. On the contrary they could influence the young minds in a positive way to develop healthy eating habits by giving them good food choices and including the message of benefits of healthy food choices along with entertainment. They make it difficult for you to stay in a outside hotel and visit the parks. Overall overpriced junk ride.

"Not bad for economy hotel"

Ok, so full disclosure. The first time to WDW in over 20 years, so a lot of things have changed mostly all of the hotel choices. Last time I stayed there was when they had the Golf Resort. This time with my kids and dance family we stayed at the Allstar Movies resort. The best thing about this resort was the bed. It was so comfortable to sleep on and the pillows were wonderful too. That made a huge difference to me because I have back and neck issues and need to sleep on a well supporting bed and have the right pillow for the type of bed. Yes, I know, it’s TMI I am sure those out there that have these issues now what I mean. So,the main thing about this resort is that the rooms are tight. Well designed, look nice, TV worked, there were outlets and USB ports next to the bed, water in shower was warm-hot and the bathroom was big considering the space of the room. My biggest complaint was not with the room but with the food in this resort. It was not good. There were a few choices that were just fine but overall everyone in my party did not like the food or have a great experience with the food court. No fresh brewed ice tea, so if you like ice tea you are out of luck. They had Gold Peak brand in bottles, which has something in it that causes me major problems so I can’t drink it. You need to go into, the parks to get a proper ice tea from Starbucks. Yes they are all over just branded different based on where they are in the park. I also felt that our hotel was out of the way of everything. The busses that take you around the park were never on time . They say they come every 20 minutes. I felt that was not the case for most parks. They also took 20-40 minutes to get anywhere from this resort Once we were on the bus. The busses were packed to the brim every trip because we had such long waits. When we were leaving the parks we had long waits as well and this was one of the only options for travel to the hotel other than Uber or Lyft. so make sure you give yourself an hour to get anywhere from this hotel. I did not use the pool so I can’t comment on that part of the resort. But there are 2 in this property. You will get at least 10k steps in walking from the room to the main building where guest services and the food court is located. Be prepared for that.
