"Hard to decide if it’s worth the price difference from other value resorts. Hmmm"

I keep asking myself if staying in a Little Mermaid Room was worth the price bump from other value resorts like All Star. I much prefer the deluxe resorts but a short trip here at Christmas time made me not want to pay for one night somewhere when I could stay 3 night for the same price. I also think my little girl really liked the Mermaid room. I was hesitant. Very. I’ve found the value resorts to be too loud and run down. Almost impossible to sleep. Animation was different though. Yes, you can still hear your neighbor shower like they are next to your bed. The pool is a little noisy but so big and fun (keep in mind it will be closed soon for repairs). The beds are worn and hurt my back but the Mermaid room was cute. The walls may be a tad more sound proof than other value resort, a tad. Transportation was easy. We never had a problem with the shuttle. Tomorrow we will ride the new Sky Liner but it really doesn’t go anywhere I’m excited about. Epcot and Hollywood are not part of our plans this trip. The cafeteria was a LOT better than most any other quick service at the value resorts. I even like it better than the bad one at Animal Kingdom. Animation had good pizza and a grilled chicken sandwich my toddler liked. All staff interactions were positive except we did not have working Wi-Fi for the ENTIRE stay. The manager and the tech guys supposedly worked on it a few times but we haven’t seen an improvement. I have to use my cell and can’t use my laptop or iPad bc the signal is weak so it’s a pain. Sadly, Sprint does not get a good signal from this room too. We haven’t been able to use the Disney app or site to plan additional meals or adventures while in the room so that’s a bummer and annoyed us every time we tried. I made most of my plans in transit while keeping up with my kiddo and holding on for dear life. Also we were not able to check on our security system form home and missed several important texts and emails. WiFi is a must for us so it was the pits but only when we needed it. I think you are paying 60$ more per night for a slightly less run down room than other value resorts, a better quick service restaurant, and for the sky liner (you do not have to be a guest to ride it btw). I personally slept better here than other places but I’m staying at a less busy time so I can’t really decide based on that. I’m irritated that the internet was not available during my whole stay even after requesting help so ... my gut says no, it’s not worth it. I’d rather pay a little more and bump up to the next level of resort at Disney. Unless I need a suite. I hear the Lion King suites are great if you need two bedrooms. Maybe better beds and less scuffs on the walls and less dust in the room would change my mind. These things bother me and make me wonder what’s not getting cleaned. Sticky dust in corners creep me out. My family need me to find that Just Right hotel fit here at Disney. We are still looking. We will try camping next and maybe The Contemporary. In the end, Animation was OK. Maybe not ok enough for the price difference.

"Family Friendly"

Let's be honest, this place is ALL for the kids! In two previous trips to Disney, I stayed at more upscale resorts so I was a bit hesitant about staying here. I have to say it was pretty great, no complaints! Pros - Nice big cafeteria for quick meals. Nice kid friendly pool area. Connected to Skyliner. Big arcade to keep kids entertained. Lots of activities (movies by the pool, pool party). Rooms were well appointed, clean, comfortable, and suprisingly quiet at night! Cons - It all seems a tiny bit dated, small pool bar for adults to grab a drink after all the excitement of Disney and not close to any sit down restaurants to use up those dining credits. Overall great stay and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone with young kids who are not looking for an upscale/luxury experience.

"Great family resort"

The staff is great and will help out however they need. We had a medical emergency our first night of 4 of our vacation. Chelsea went above and beyond to help in anyway possible. We will stay here anytime we come to Disney. We had two car suits, one Nemo suite and one Little Mermaid room. They were all fabulous and our Grandkids enjoyed them and the poos and arcade very much. Getting to the parks was very convenient. We especially loved the new Skyliner.

"The best resort for families with 3 toddlers & grandparents too"

I think that there could be no better place for 3 children under 3, with one who loves Cars. We stayed in Bldg 1 of the Cars suites. Our 3 year old arrived after dark and thought he had entered the Cars movie. All of the characters were there. Our suites were next to each other & were adorable, 2 bathrooms was fantastic, all the furnishings resembled tool boxes, lamps of traffic cones. The table that turned into a bed at night fabulous, we did not use the couch that turned into a bed but fabulous attention to detail. Large hallways. Great pools for little ones, playground great, nice wide walkways to get rid of pent up energy. Loved the cafeteria , good selection of food, bought the mugs so we had endless refills & hot chocolate before bed. This resort is definitely for young children but that’s what makes it so comfortable! Parking was easy. The new monorail has a stop there so fun to ride back & forth. The ones who went to Magic Kingdom had easy bus transportation to & from with no waits. I would highly recommend !

"Excellent theming!"

Being Ariel’s fans, our daughters couldn’t be any happier when they arrived at this resort. The theming was excellent, I would rate it 5 stars. Even I was impressed and still am! It was also great to walk around the resort. Distance was no issue for us. From our mermaid room to the front reception/ skyliner took 10mins but a lovely walk nevertheless. Lots of activities for kids and my daughters did the Mickey tie-dye t-shirts. However, after 12 nights at the Caribbean Beach Resort, I secretly prayed that one day they would upgrade the resort to moderate. Although I love the theming and details around the resort and in the room, the beds were really uncomfortable and smaller. This was the killer for us. Lucky that we only stayed for 2 nights. Also there isn’t a lot of space for 4 and walls very thin that we could hear the couple next door doing their thing! Would stay here again but hoping that Disney will do something about the beds and sound proofing.
