We had booked this as a very late deal and booked a mermaid room as my daughters love the little mermaid. We had stayed at Port Orleans previously so had concerns about staying at a value but we had limited choices of resorts left. On arrival we were allocated a cars suite (which we were surprised at) and given a room in block no 3. The rooms are big and bright although the main rooms could do with getting updated, The 2 bathrooms were bright and spotlessly clean with plenty towels. The main room had a sofa bed *that had stitching coming away at the right hand top), a pull down double bed, small kitchen area, the bedroom had a large double bed and lots of storage. We had requested a deep clean before arriving due to allergies and had been assured that this was done. The carpet in the room was ok but seemed to have some long term staining and could do with being replaced, the stains may have been ingrained and not able to have been removed when cleaned. The bed in the main room was very squeaky, the mattress was awful, very soft and had permanent grooves in it, myself and my daughter were both highly allergic to it causing us both to have very swollen eyes after sleeping on it (my daughter only had a 1/2 nap_) resulting in having to go and get her eyedrops, further anti allergy medicines and cream for her face which had also went bright red and blotchy, Her allergies (apart from food ones ) are mould, animal hair and dust, several washing powders. I contacted housekeeping who changed pillows , and confirmed that anti allergy powders were being used but to no avail. I continued to be allergic and my daughters eyes took 3 days to clear up (her face took longer). We were offered a room change but declined as the same may have happened again. I can only assume that an animal had been on the bed at some time or that the mattress was old and had mould or dust ingrained in it. Everything around looked so clean and we had wiped all the surrounding surfaces with anti bacterial wipes when arriving. However house keeping left pillow covers lying on the floor in the room several times when changing the beds this may have been as they were rushed in their rounds, we just added them to the towels to be washed in the bathroom. The resort as a whole is amazing, the grounds and theme are wonderful for younger children and everything is well keep and colourful. The staff at the reception were lovely although one told me that my room had a credit of $200 from the travel company I had used but when I double checked the next day I was advised that this was not the case so glad I did not charge any thing to the room. The food hall staff were not so cheery so much so that we ended up choosing to eat out after being over charged by one of them and being declined a paper cup for a cup of water when we were using the resort cups for hot drinks at the time, This was a shock as the food hall staff in Port Orleans had always been so happy, cheerful and accomodating. We did not use the large pool as it was really crowded but did use the small pool beside the cars building which was clean and beautifully kept, the laundry room was also excellent. The buses were fine going to the park but a nightmare coming back especially from magic kingdom where we waited for about 45 minutes to get buses back even witnessing arguements between staff and people skipping the long lines to force themselves on to the bus, All in all would stay at a Disney resort but not one that allows animals in the room as I still feel this is linked to myself and my daughters issues. Due to Disney imposing parking fees from next year however we may chose to stay off site as this will add a considerable amount to an already expensive holiday but without the added benefits and we ate mostly offsite anyhow. Shout out to Lynn Clark who tried all she could to get to the bottom of the allergy problem in the room, thank you for your help,

Had a wonderful time here with my family. The resort is huge and can be very busy at times so it's not a very personal service. In saying that everything ran smoothly, food was delicious and buses to parks frequent and efficient. And the fact that you buy a cup and get free refills the whole time you are there is out of this world.

"Great price and nice place to stay"

This very large resort is clean and also reasonably priced, especially compared to other Disney properties. It has two swimming pools that are well taken care of and closely watched by several lifeguards. The rooms are basic, but decorated to match the theme of that particular building. The staff were great and property & grounds are nicely maintained. The park buses are fantastic. I am not a fan of public transportation, but was pleasantly surprised to find out that that the buses taken from Art of Animation (I assume this is the same at other Disney properties as well) do not stop and other resorts and take you directly to park you want. This means time spent on the buses was always less than 15 minutes. If you don't care about the theme of your building, pick a building close the main lobby/restaurant building because it's a long walk from one side of resort to the other. Our beds weren't terribly comfortable, but I would stay at this resort again. Nice job, Disney!

The family suites are really nice and easy to fit 4 adults and 2 children age 6 and 3. The price is a bit high but this is Disney. It is nice that they have transportation to all the parks and Disney springs. Would have to get a discount to stay in the family suite again though.

"Filthy carpets!"

I really regret my stay here and mostly because of how filthy the rooms are. Judge yourself but look at the pictures, i moved the bed against the wall so my kid wouldnt fall while sleeping as he tends to move alot and what a suprise, the carpet looks like it hasnt been cleaned for the past 10 years. I even felt weird when i took off my shoes before finding out how dirty it was. If even feels like your walking in the street. I cant express how disgusted we were and on top of that 1 of our beds was not even made because my baby spilled some milk, not much at all and they didnt even change or made the sheets. Definitely a bad experience, i really trusted some of these reviews thinking that because it was disney it was not going to be like a low budget motel.
