"Remember you're in Orlando..... But the sheriff station is just down the road"

My daughter and I were going to see Tate McCrae in Orlando, FL and needed somewhere to stay afterwards so we didn't have to drive 3 hours home..... I used to live in Central Florida, so I knew what to expect of the area. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly.

"No customer service be warned"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5

I rarely ever leave reviews, but my recent stay at this hotel was so frustrating that I feel like people need to be warned. From the very beginning, things went downhill. The front desk workers were extremely rude, unwelcoming, and seemed completely unwilling to help with even the simplest requests. There was no friendliness, no customer service, just an overall attitude that made us feel like we were a burden for even checking in. When we got to our room, it was fairly clean, which is the only reason I’m not giving this review zero stars if that were possible. But even then, there were absolutely no towels. None. We had to call down to the front desk twice, and after waiting over an hour, we basically had to bargain with them just to get towels brought up to us. That’s not something you should ever have to deal with at a hotel, and it completely ruined the first night. The elevator situation was terrifying. It felt like we were risking our lives every time we had to use it. The emergency call panel was open and wouldn’t close, the floor buttons barely worked, and the screen that’s supposed to tell you what floor you’re on was broken. Half the time we weren’t even sure if we were going to make it to the right floor—or make it at all. I avoided using it whenever possible because I honestly didn’t feel safe. The only decent part of the stay was the pool. It was in decent condition and a nice break from everything else, but unfortunately, that doesn’t make up for all the negatives. Parking was another nightmare. One whole side of the parking lot was closed off for renovations, and since we were there on a busy weekend for a concert, there was absolutely no parking available. We literally had to create our own parking spot because there was nowhere else to go. How a hotel can operate with such little regard for guests’ needs during renovations is beyond me. And to top it all off, the hotel is located right next to a jail. Not exactly the most comfortable or reassuring environment when you’re paying for a place to relax and feel safe. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Between the rude staff, unsafe elevator, lack of basic necessities like towels, horrible parking situation, and the sketchy location, I would never recommend this place to anyone. Definitely not worth the money or the stress.

"Slipped and fell"

I stayed here two weeks ago for the weekend. It is located in a good spot of Orlando where it’s not crowded and easy to get to many locations. You have the highway at the corner which makes it s convenient spot! Location, the food served for breakfast and the politeness of most the employees are the only things I liked staying here. A huge complaint about this location is the condensation that happens if your a/c and bathroom shower temperatures are very different! I am slim and hate the cold, so I had to bring up the temp from 67 to 77. when I took a hot shower, it caused the entire floor of the hotel to be wet!! When I called front desk to let them know. The lady told me that they are aware this happens. When I woke up in the morning, I got out of bed and unfortunately slid and fell on my chest/arm which cause bruising, scratches and discomfort. When I called the front desk to let someone know, I didn’t even get any compassion or apology. I was told a maintenance man will come to check out the a/c unit. The man came and check the a/c and just like the front desk lady stated; he also said “the a/c is working great and no leakage. they are aware of this issue with the material of the floors”! I was shocked that they know this happens and do not fix or warn their guests! I could have fell and really caused some damage/death! I had to reach out to Wyndham to let them know of this, since I fear for future guests that can really hurt themselves! I was given the runaround at first but then understood that even though it’s under the Wyndham umbrella, they are not responsible for the hotel as it’s privately owned. They provided 2 #’s for Romina, which 1 doesn’t work and 2nd # was told no one is there by that name! I have not been able to speak to anyone at a higher level from Baymont to discuss the issue! This is the worst customer service!! Additional things that I disliked at this hotel: Room 243 is where I stayed. Unfortunately I will complain about the comfort of the bed as it was really hard and felt like you could feel the bones of the bed. There was no small fridge as the automated system said when I called before I went to this hotel. The room/bathroom were cleaned. I disliked that there was only 1 ice maker that worked and was located on a different floor on opposite side of where I stayed.

"Fabulous time I was happy with the hotel, the procedure procedures, and the claims of the place"

I had the best wonderful time. The service was very courteous very proud and the taste is very clean. Only thing the hot water was so slow. It wasn’t hot. It was warm. I like hot water, but this isn’t being on the first floor the fifth floor, but not even hot so maybe in the future they can fix the hot water and make sure it gets hot. Otherwise it was a great adventure.
