Had a great experience, staff was very helpful & friendly. Labryan & Adrian with the Valet service did a great job & helped us with tips about restaurants close by & travel tips through the city.

Nice rooms. Walk in shower was nice. The valet parking service was really good. Check in was easy and friendly. Would recommend this hotel to visitors in Tampa.

During my visit, I interacted with Meikel and Labryan (LB), both of whom were outstanding. From my initial check-in experience, LB provided excellent customer service and gave clear instructions regarding valet parking and how it worked. Meikel also delivered exceptional service and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. Thank you both for a memorable stay !

Went to see The Nutcracker at The Straz Center. Got a room for the night so we could relax before and after. Location was pretty ideal. Front staff and Valet (Adrian) was wonderful and courteous! Unfortunately, that’s where the compliments stop. Room was at first blink tidy, but having stayed at so many hotels around the country and in Europe, you learn what to look for and what to just ignore and forgive. Ignore the broken window shades, look for mold; black mold was grossly hiding under the foot step in the shower that you can’t see unless you’re sitting on the toilet. Lots of black mold around the VERY loud A/C unit. Didn’t see that till I pulled the shade back. That’s also when the dusty, musky smell of old curtains hit my nose. My husband told me to stop moving the curtains because the smell was wafting over to where he was standing by the bed. Ah, the bed; it needs a new mattress. There’s a sink hole in the middle! Went to plug my phone into a “real” wall outlet because the one in the nightstand didn’t work and found an area full of thick dust, receipts, a valet pass and a few other pieces of ephemeral. Based on my housekeeping experience, that looked like at least two years since it had been cleaned. I ignored the annoying dripping from the shower head that inconveniently PING’d on the metal drain plate continuously. Ignored the huge tear in the wallpaper by the sink and the badly weathered mirror. Lastly, we doubt we’ll get those last four nights to earn platinum elite status for 2025; we have done so for 6 years and were shooting to get 10 years worth to earn the platinum status for life. Gold Elite status isn’t the best, but we do get late checkouts upon request. Last four Courtyard hotel stays, (Fredericksburg, VA, Tampa, FL, Baltimore, Md, and a smaller city in SC) were underwhelming with similar and sometimes worse conditions. Probably not going to earn that 10-year platinum status reward, as Marriott’s standards seem to be dropping year by year. In fact, independent hotels are kicking the pants off big brands! That seems more REWARDING than platinum anything with Marriott at this point!
