Comfort Suites Myrtle Beach Central in Myrtle Beach, SC

Was supposed to stay in this hotel for one night with friends. We had two rooms booked. The first room was supposed to be a king bed with a pullout couch - but it had no couch, so those friends had to switch rooms. That was acceptable, though both rooms smelled musty and the couch ended up being damp. The second room had 2 queen beds. The room was musty smelling and dank - figured out why when I stepped on the carpet and felt water seeping through my sock. The carpet was soaked from a leaking air conditioner. Switched to another double queen, only to find that the bathroom was filthy, with hair everywhere, balled up on the floor, and a stained tub. And when my friend pulled back the comforter on one of the beds to go to sleep, she saw that the sheets were obviously dirty and smelled like sweat. And, we noticed a huge water stain on the ceiling, which is probably concealing mold. Instead of changing to ANOTHER room, we chose to leave and find lodging elsewhere. The entire hotel is damp and musty and dirty - horribly stained carpets that look as though they haven't been vacuumed or cleaned in ages. I wish I took pictures, because I've never seen such a dirty, unkempt hotel. Makes me happier that I spend a little more to stay in Hiltons or Marriotts. And to top it all off, even though we were only "checked in" for 5-6 hours, with maybe 3 hours of that time actually spent in the hotel, they refuse to give me a refund. The hotel manager (either Michelle Reed or Alyssa Quintero) refuses to even speak to me on the phone!! And the reps at the main customer service number (I've called twice) say that it's up to the individual hotel manager to issue a refund. They want to give me points! As if I would ever stay at any hotel in this chain again. So - filthy hotel, and poor management. If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would.

Stay away from, not to be trusted. Booked for 3 nights under choice privileges, found I only needed 2 nights. I have travelled for fifty years, I have never had my card charged at check in and never had a problem at any hotel checking out early. This hotel refused to refund my card if I were to check out early. The hotel is explicit, you can leave early but we will not refund an unused night. My only choice was to either stay or lose my 3 rd night charge of $160. I ended up staying because I didn’t want to lose $160 for nothing. This is greed on the part of of this property. The manager refused to come out from her hiding place in the office to discuss, forcing the pleasant clerk to handle. Manager claimed she was about to get on teleconference call. I call bs on that. On top of this the room had an odor of mold/mustiness and the floors had a damp feeling. Management tried to claim I had special pricing, choice privileges membership has never been considered special as far as pricing. I will never stay at this location again and I hope this is a warning for others Only sta

Nice hotel. Rooms are spacious, comfortable bed. Good breakfast - waffles as well as sausage and eggs plus usual like muffins, danish, cereal, oatmeal. No restaurant that I saw in walking distance. Staff friendly. Didn't use or look at pool. Would stay again

No hot water! Problem was supposed to be fixed several times. I only asked for 25 bucks off for 2 nights and was told numerous times by front desk that I could not get any compensation. I asked for the general managers number, but they said no use to complain to her because it wouldn’t do any good and she wouldn’t answer.
