"Disappointing Stay – Noisy, Outdated, and Poor Security"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone I know for the following reasons: Noise – The sound insulation is terrible. We could clearly hear a party still going on at 12:30 a.m., even from inside our room (Room 502). Outdated & Overpriced – For $400 per night during the Canada long weekend, I expected a much better experience. The hotel felt outdated and not worth the premium price. Lack of Concern – When I raised the issue, the staff simply said they would “investigate,” but didn’t seem to care much. Security – The parking lot has no security gate, which left me feeling uneasy about the safety of our car. The only good thing was that I only had to stay here for one night. I will never return.

"Very comfortable, guest laundry, good location but can’t sit on balcony"
TripAdvisor user rating 4.0 out of 5

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in room 1403. It comprised a bathroom, bedroom and sitting area with kitchen. The décor was uncluttered, some might view it as minimalist. BATHROOM WC, bath with shower. Lotion and shampoo were provided but no hard soap. Water was hot. Limited hanging space for towels. Good lighting. BEDROOM TV, bed, bedside tables, large A/C unit, built-in cupboard. No room for a chair. Sleep quality was excellent. SITTING AREA/KITCHEN Sofa, one armchair, coffee table, dining table and 2 chairs, desk, TV, storage wardrobe with glass doors and a high safe which was hard to reach. There was an alcove near the door for hanging coats. The kitchen had a cooker, fridge, microwave, plates, cutlery, cooking utensils, pots and pans, oven mitts, dish cloth, tea towel, recycling food bin and sink. I thought it was well equipped. There was a Nespresso coffee machine. The balcony was a huge disappointment. There was a large 20-30cm hurdle to overcome to get onto the balcony onto the balcony but no furniture. Clearly, it was not intended for sitting on! This fact makes my rating 4* rather than 5* as I think this should have been made clearer. It seems very odd to have a balcony but not any furniture. OTHER COMMENTS The laundry on 3rd floor was well used. A machine wash cost $3 and dryer cost $2. The wash took about 40 minutes. A notice said change was available at reception. Sometimes, apples were available at reception. A good supermarket was in Yates Street. A liquor store was close by the supermarket. It was about a 3 minute walk to the BC connector coach for the ferry. The main attractions of Victoria were within easy walking distance.

"Must Stay for Conference Attendees!!"

Chateau Victoria is a perfectly located & reasonably priced option if you are attending a meeting at the Conference Center! Anything you need is within a few minutes walk away. The hotel is clean, staff is friendly & helpful, and the room has a super comfy bed with a Nespresso & a small fridge. You must visit the restaurant on the 18th floor - Vista 18. There isn’t a bad seat in the house with stunning views from every table. My server gave excellent recommendations & I had one of the best halibut dishes ever - and I even fish for my own halibut!! The desert was as tasty as it was delicious and I had a 5-star experience. The lobby bar/restaurant, Clive’s, had local beer choices & fantastic cocktails with a dark, speakeasy vibe. I will be back!! Thanks, Chateau Victoria!

We took the Clipper from Seattle and this hotel worked out perfectly for the weekend. Our room was ready early so we were able to get changed and comfortable immediately once we got to town. The beds were comfortable and the ammenities were excellent. We enjoyed the rooftop resturant/bar. We did not leave until 5pm the day of checkout but the hotel willingly allowed us to store our baggage. This hotel was perfect for our weekend get away! 10/10 recommened.
