Love the beautiful courtyard and friendly staff. Daily activities available to all guests. Yolanda suggested a nice restaurant to have Thanksgiving dinner with the family with an oceanfront view, reasonably priced and walking distance from the resort.

Absolutely, so grateful for the Carlsbad Inn team! We stayed here for a business retreat and they were phenomenal. Eugene was so attentive and helpful, even making sure that ice was there every morning so I didn't have to run downstairs to keep refilling it. He always made sure our coffee and water were full and checked in with me to see if anything else was needed. Jeanette was a pleasure to work with, she was accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed. Our company has stayed here multiple times, and there is a reason they are our first choice! Highly recommend! Thank you to everyone at the Carlsbad Inn for being so kind and amazing!

This is an old timeshare "resort" - I'd walked by it many times over the years and decided to give it a try for a one night business trip. The location is great - right in the middle of Carlsbad village - easy walking distance to the beach & a variety of shops/restaurants. It's not 'on the beach' but across the street and at high enough elevation to appear so in photos. It needs work. To be fair there are signs of maintenance happening all over the place....but it's still old and in need of updating. Note: My experience is specific to a 1 night "hotel room" type booking by a non owner. If you are an owner here with a fixed unit, your experience of course could be far different. I was assigned to a 2nd floor room in the "hotel" building. There are 3 disconnected separate buildings on the property - I found it very difficult to find my way around from the underground parking area. My room smelled weird - musty/old. It had a makeup mirror permanently installed on the kitchenette counter, which was odd. I immediately opened the window as the odor was bothering me and experienced loud noise as the room faced the street. So - I needed to have a good night sleep and realizing the odor and noise were going to preclude it went back to the check in area to ask for a different room. I explained the issues (bad smell that was making me cough and too much noise if I tried to abate it via an open window). No excuse, apology or denial was made - the employee either didn't care about these issues or simply knew them to be a fact so didn't even pretend to be surprised or intending to investigate them. I was told my only option to move would be via payment of an upgrade fee to a unit which also faced the street but was on a higher floor so potentially had less noise and perhaps no moisture odor problems. So I paid it. The next room was better as respects the odor....but the jacuzzi tub didn't work and the TV didn't work and the noise (albeit better than the prior room) kept me up all night long - even with the window closed. First a club of some sort with a guy screaming on a microphone as respects some kind of game (trivia or something) went on for hours non stop.....then the trains started. Loud horns and whistles and the thundering sounds of trains charging through: 11:30pm....1:15am....4:45am... I literally was up all night long. At checkout nobody asked my anything - they likely knew from experience. Guests should be warned about the noise. It's ridiculous. Had I been told, I'd have stayed elsewhere. You shouldn't be charged an upgrade fee to escape a musty/funky smelling old room. An apology and a free "upgrade" would have helped. I won't be back.
