"Worst both are"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

The worst hotel to stay. We asked for ocean view, we had parking view! There is no entry in front of the hotel to deposit your luggages. The A/C in the room is like a Harley Davidson , you can’t sleep with the noise. There is no place to unpack your luggage’s . The restaurant is so small and don’t ask for milk, there is no milk. The employees don’t know anything, don’t ask a question! The glass door in the washroom is so heavy, you better let the door open. The worst nightmare I had for my vacation. I told my husband, I want to go home!

"Hope you like luke warm showers"

Unless you like luke warm showers, do NOT stay here. At first we wre told that they were not sure what the problem could be because they just installed new boilers. If you read all of the reviews, it's all the same bs excuses. Then later to find out we are told that they are a green hotel and that they do not provide hot water. For $209 for the night we stayed, I want hot water. Just utterly ridiculous. Then upon leaving we asked for a late checkout of 12 Noon, instead of 11am and we are told that they cannot do that. So we get all packed up and at the front desk right at 11am and she says, oh, you're leaving now? Because you have a late checkout. We told her that we were told that we couldn't have one. This hotel is lacking on communication and training and there is a huge disconnect in staff and management at this property. Just whatever. Lesson learned. We will never stay at this hotel again and if you are reading this review to see about this hotel before your stay, RUN!!! Go stay at a $99 hotel or a crack motel; at least they will have hot water in their showers.

"Roaches!"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed December 14, 2025
We only had to stay for the night and I am So thankful for that! We checked in around 4. It was pretty straight forward but they do charge $150 for incidentals which is a little high and you also do not have a choice but to do valet. Jeff also informed us they do not do housekeeping unless you request it not that we needed it for the night but if I was staying longer I wouldn’t like that. Now when we got to the room everything seemed good. We got ready for the Christmas party we were going to and headed out. We got back around 11 and just wanted to lay down and go to sleep but that would not happen. We got into bed looked up and a roach was on the ceiling! I called down to the front desk and they offered to change our room but we were exhausted and didn’t want to repack everything at midnight so my husband climbed up on the bed and chased the roach and killed it. We also saw a dead one in the corner of the room. The front desk said they would note our account but after that I could not sleep thinking of the roach crawling on me! Finally it was morning and as we were getting ready the fire alarm started to go off then it stopped and then it went off again. When we went downstairs nobody was informed if something was going on. Definitely not safe. When I checked out they asked how my stay was and I told them we had roaches in our room. The gentleman said oh, yes I see that. We do not have a manager right now so I’ll give you the parking free. He also took pictures of my phone with the video of the roach and pictures. This whole stay was very disappointing and I’m kind of shocked how roaches crawling around in the rooms was brushed off.

"Not the Best Hotel Experience, Bad Luck Maybe?"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5
Reviewed December 13, 2025
I chose the Cambria because of prior positive experiences with the brand in Detroit, so when my travels took me again to Fort Lauderdale I felt it a good choice to stay at the Cambria. If you drive, it is valet parking only, so if your concerned about stretching your travel dollars you may want to do some math about what the cost of parking is versus the cost of ride share based on your itinerary and go from there. There is no public parking anywhere close to this hotel. The hotel is surrounded by private condos and residences with parking lots watched very closely. The hotel has nice curb appeal, it is very modern looking building and I was wondering when the building was put up; is this an extensive remodel or was it all new. I would say it is probably a remodel. The shower never got hot, even with the knob wide open it was warmer than tepid but not hot. You won't have to worry about steam. I returned to the room after the evening out and discovered a roach on the ceiling. I did not have food in the room, only a sealed drink in the fridge, so it wasn't after anything I did; but it was interesting it was on the ceiling. I killed it by standing on the bed. At check out the desk clerk seemed very indifferent about the roach but did see where it was noted on the stay. They had offered to relocate us but let's be honest, do you really want to pack up and move rooms at 1130 at night? So the following morning I was leisurely getting myself around to leave and the fire alarm went off. Then it stopped and it started again. I had dressed and went out to investigate. Apparently there was no emergency. I retrieved my car from valet and it was like nothing out of the ordinary. I thought when a fire alarm triggered the fire department would respond but there was no response while I was there for 15-20 minutes after the first activation. Maybe they wanted to make sure everyone was awake for 1100 check out time. In the end I am not inclined to return.

"Petty charges & inflexible policies leave a poor impression for customers"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

This is our second — and definitely our last — stay at the Cambria Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, FL. When I called the night before to let the front desk know I would be arriving early, the staff member explained that standard check-in is at 4:00 p.m., but if a room was available they would try to check us in sooner. That is exactly what happened during our stay in 2024, so as a repeat customer I expected the same consideration this year. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the front desk clerk informed us that the only way to check in before 4:00 p.m. was to pay a $25 early check-in fee. He insisted there were no exceptions. To make matters worse, he told my partner, “The hotel needs to make money.” Buyer beware: While the Cambria may advertise slightly lower rates, it’s the small policies and customer-service details that truly shape the experience. Brands like Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott consistently check in guests early when rooms are available — and they don’t tack on petty fees for doing so. Successful businesses adapt and prioritize value for their customers. Guests, in turn, choose businesses that treat them fairly. Had we booked at the nicer Hilton less than a mile away, we might have paid a bit more upfront, but we wouldn’t have been nickel-and-dimed by an unprofessional clerk trying to extract an extra $25. Instead of resting comfortably in our room, we’re writing this honest review from the lobby of the Cambria.
