Best Western Allentown Bethlehem Lehigh Valley Inn & Suites

We were on a bus tour and unfortunately had to spend 2 nights at this terrible hotel-one on the way to our destination and one on the way home. This was already under contract between the tour company and the hotel so we had no say in whether we returned for the 2nd night or not. There were multiple things that happened within our group that were the fault of the hotel. - no bath towels in room - stair access smelled terrible - only one elevator - luggage handling was terrible-took over 2 hours for luggage to arrive to room. I actually went down and retrieved our luggage myself. - nasty carpet in our room-badly stained and needsd replacing - 4 pillows on each bed and not one of them was comfortable-they flattened out immediately - small bathroom-barely room on vanity for toiletries I could go on and on about the issues we and the rest of our group had.

After leaving the Best Western in Intercourse, Pa., where everything and everyone was lovely this was a complete let down. To give a picture, we are an 80ish couple and I use a walker. When we arrived to check in, the two clerks (one male, one female) were engaged in a conversation. When the male finally acknowledged my presence, the female asked if I was checking in. OK. Gave her my name and asked for a luggage cart. Response to the effect of ‘our luggage cart is being repaired (I could see the guy lying on the floor trying to fix it), but your room isn’t far.’ Not a good first impression. The cart was fixed quickly and the guy asked who was looking for one and he took it outside to my husband. Now we’re given our room keys, room 111, go to the room and there’s a refrigerator in the middle of the floor. I wheeled myself back to the desk and told the female clerk (male gone now) that there’s a refrigerator in the middle of the room. She didn’t seem to comprehend the problem. I said I can’t get around a refrigerator in the middle of the room with my walker. So do you want another room. Yes please. She then called someone and started to tell them of my complaint, then broke into another language with her/him while looking at me as though I was the problem. RUDE !! I walked back to the original room to get my husband who was waiting there and another woman (manager?) walked in and said ‘how did that get there’ about the refrigerator. She told me she’d have it fixed and I told her we already got another room. The room was ok for one night but could have been vaccummed. I had to go back to the desk for coffee for the room and tissues. When we turned on the tv that night, we realized it didn’t work very well. The video was all pixlillated (if that’s what you call it), but I had no intentions of going back to that desk and that very annoyed face again. The cleaning staff had their cart parked in the middle of the hallway, standing there gabbing and gave me a look when I was trying to maneuver my walker around it. No friendly faces here. Now that’s a mistake. Desk lady gave me a big smile when I checked out.

Great, low key hotel. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Room was comfortable and clean, there is a small outdoor pool. Basic breakfast and 24 hour coffee included in the rate was highly appreciated. Would not hesitate to return.

Nice hotel, but disappointed that the swimming pool was not in operation. Did have a jet fly over the hotel around 11:00 at night, sounded very close must have been going into the airport.

Room smelled musty. Found hair on the shower wall and a used towel that was hanging on the shower curtain rail behind the door, did not see it at check in but saw it the next morning when taking a shower. Breakfast was so so.
