Description

Climb, rappel, and explore a one-of-a-kind slot canyon on this guided 2-hour tour at Antelope Ridge Adventure Park near Page, Arizona. This thrilling adventure features the first and only via ferrata inside a slot canyon, combining guided hiking, vertical climbing, and three rappels through some of the Southwest's most dramatic red rock formations.

Led by CPR- and First Aid-certified guides, you'll scale canyon walls using fixed iron rungs, traverse narrow rock ledges, and rappel up to 70 feet down sandstone cliffs—all while safely harnessed into a twin-lanyard system. The 2-hour tour includes about 300 feet of via ferrata, winding through tight corridors, and highlights like the sculpted slot canyon walls and the stunning Cathedral Room.

No climbing or rappelling experience needed. This tour is designed for beginners, families, and seasoned adventurers alike. All safety gear is included—helmet, gloves, harness, and climbing lanyards.

Where is the tour located?

The tour meets at Antelope Ridge Adventure Park on the Navajo Reservation near Page, AZ. From Page, head south on Coppermine Rd./N20 and turn left across from the Lechee Chapter House.

Is parking provided?

Yes! Follow the dirt road up the hill to the parking area—complimentary parking is available on-site.

How long does the tour last?

Expect to spend about 2 hours on the tour, including orientation.

Is the tour suitable for children?

It is not recommended for children under 9 years old. They must be able to clip and unclip the safety lanyard on their own and traverse the steps without assistance.

What should I wear?

Wear breathable, comfortable clothing that allows for movement; lightweight long sleeves and pants are best for narrow canyon sections. Closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required—climbing shoes aren’t necessary. All safety gear (helmet, harness, gloves, lanyards) is provided.

What should I bring?

Avoid bringing bags, backpacks, or cameras—narrow sections of the course make it difficult to carry extra items, and dropped gear can't be retrieved. If you bring a cell phone, it must be securely tethered and not interfere with safety equipment. Water bottles are allowed. All safety gear is provided.

Is prior climbing experience necessary?

No. The tour is designed for beginners and includes instruction and safety gear.

How high is the climb?

The via ferrata route involves climbing metal rungs along canyon walls, reaching heights up to 200 feet. While the exposure adds excitement, you're always clipped into a secure safety system, and guides are there to support you throughout the ascent.

How narrow is the slot canyon?

If you’re concerned about getting stuck, there are two boards (representing the rock walls) at the Antelope Ridge Adventure Park head quarters to give you an idea of how narrow the slot canyon will be. Passages are as narrow as 12 inches; If you fear of confined spaces, this may not be suitable for you.

Are there any health restrictions?

If you have any health conditions, please consult your doctor before participating. There is hiking, climbing, and rappelling. The temperatures can be over 100 degrees in the height of summer.
