"Mixed experience - nice location but not up to the standards expected of a Hilton"

We picked this hotel for a one night stay after spending 2 brilliant weeks at Disney & visiting Kennedy Space Centre before flying back to the UK the following day. We selected the hotel due to its location on Cocoa Beach, Hilton brand “quality” and the advertised facilities and beach bar. We arrived quite tired late afternoon after a day of travelling / walking around KSC and were not told there was any issue so headed straight up to our room. General decor around the hotel and in our room was tired with lots of scuffs on furniture, old carpets and poor paint job on the walls. We had booked an ocean view room - we did have a view of the ocean in the distance although a lot of the view also included a quite ugly flat roof of the restaurant & air con units etc. - they could have made an effort to make that look nicer. We headed down to get a drink before our evening meal to find all food and beverage facilities closed with signs put up from the Health Department advising they had been shut down that day (4th August). We tried talking to staff including the front office manager Mohammed who was particularly unhelpful. They said there was nothing they could suggest, they said guests who had booked direct were being offered $25 per person per night as compensation to allow them to purchase food from another location but as our travel agent in the UK had booked our stay as part of a package, they wouldn’t give us this. Instead they gave us 50k Hilton points which we were told would be enough to book a room in another Hilton worldwide as compensation - we said we didn’t really want this but were told there was no other option. We have since tried to book at a number of locations but found the points are not sufficient so we would have to add cash to this to be able to use it. Not really sure we would want to stay at another Hilton after this poor experience to be honest. There are articles online confirming the hotel was shut down for a number of days with repeated inspections due to 21 violations of health & safety / unhygienic conditions in food prep areas - think we dodged a bullet not eating there. The front desk also told us they had arranged a food truck for breakfast the following morning but when we went down at 10am we were told it had been and gone - breakfast was supposed to be up to 11am. We have tried complaining direct but they didn’t want to know and told us to do this via our travel agent, which we did but Mohammed just told them lies. Very disappointed with our stay and with the lack of service from Hilton - it’s like they just don’t care. Cocoa Beach is beautiful and there are some lovely places to eat & drink along there - we would definitely recommend visiting the location but don’t be fooled in to thinking paying for the Hilton brand is worth it - not the case in our experience.

"Enjoyable stay at a comfortable oceanside location."

The location is excellent. Staff was friendly, helpful, and respectful, and everyone really seemed to enjoy working at the hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The only issue was that the AC unit was extremely loud when it turned on (it quieted down after a few minutes to a normal level). It was funny watching tv and having to turn the volume up and down as the machine turned on and off. The room was on the top floor, so we opted to keep the view (nice on both sides) instead of asking for a different one. We paid to rent chairs and an umbrella on the beach, but we could charge it to the room, which was more convenient than having to carry cash. Warning: the sand is scorching in the summer! The food and drinks from the snack bar/Starbucks and the pool bar were great. The elevators are a little small, and there is not curbside service like you would get at a resort or 4/5 star hotel. The pool is pretty small, but the deck is very spacious with lots of loungers and umbrellas, in addition to tables for eating. We swam in the ocean, so that wasn’t a big deal for us. This hotel is a little farther from the pier, which helped keep crowds down at the beach, but we were glad to have a car. I would stay again!

"Overpriced hotel stay "

Stayed here for one night on our way from Orlando to visit family in Jaxonville as we wanted to visit the Kennedy Space Centre. Checked in and was barely greeted. The guy at the check in desk couldn't spell our 4 letter surname. We spelt letter by letter, he misheard A for I, R for L the most obscure words for a very simple surname. We are English and he spoke English very well! We wasn't asked for our car registration and ended up with warning stickers stuck over our car with the threat of towing! You're not even given a bottle of water in your room unless you're a gold/silver/diamond member which I think is disgraceful. 2 warm bottles are left in your room at $3 each plus tax. Ive never stayed in a hotel where there isnt a courtesy bottle of water available. The air-conditioning is a giant loud ugly machine in your room. We had to turn this off as it was so loud. The bathroom is tiny, shower facilities are very old and in need of attention. The walls are paper thin so we could hear next door chatting away. I felt the cost was really high for the quality of room and service we got. The pool bar served very nice food and lovely cocktails which was the best part. The dining area inside is very nicely decorated too. Overall felt it was a very pricey stay for what we ultimately got.

"Overall, expensive for the price paid. It’s far from a top hotel. Don’t waste your money!"

Guest Services have terrible manners. The restaurant are out of all drinks on tap. Not much separates this place from a home2suites. The rooms are much smaller. The only bonus is that you are on the beach. If you don’t care about that save the money.
