"Very clean room and friendly front desk personnel."

A one night stay to attend a performance. We arrived at the hotel early and our room was not ready, but the front desk upgraded us to a room that was available. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The room was quiet. Because there were two queen beds there was not room for a small table and second chair where you could put your drink or eat. Because the stay was part of a promotion, the unexpected amenity was appreciated. The hotel is within walking distance of the harbourfront and the downtown stores and restaurants.

"Exceptional Family Stay at Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour"

Our stay at the Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour was fantastic! My wife, daughter, and I spent four nights in a My Club room and loved it. The location is perfect—right by the harbour and close to everything. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with great views. The indoor pool was a hit with our daughter, and we all enjoyed the delicious breakfast and evening snacks in the Club Lounge. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better family getaway. Highly recommended!

"Lovely stay at the Marriott"

Our stay at Victoria Marriott Inner Harbor has been spectacular so far. From the super friendly staff over the phone before booking, to the doormen, to the front desk, M club lounge service and more, the service has been top notch. We were originally wanting to book the Fairmont Empress but it was sold out so decided to try out the Marriott and we’re really glad we did. We have a stellar view of the capitol, fairmont and the harbor from our room and the room feels modern and well appointed from the furnishings to the finishes. The only few small strange things if I’m being nitpicky because we stay at so many hotels and I notice this stuff is there are no slippers in the room and no apparent laundry service / bag. It’s also a bit odd to only stock two bottles of water in a suite but none of this is a big deal since I’m sure we could ask for more (though apparently the slippers are out of stock, which is odd). The location is top notch with unbeatable views and super walkable to so many sights. I love to not drive when on vacation and this is the perfect location — we caught the clipper ferry from Seattle and will take a seaplane back and both are walking distance from the hotel. We also walked to the gorgeous Beacon Hill Park, Chinatown, along the harbor and more. We booked an M-level suite and it seems super worth it to have a place to relax and grab a drink or snack after a day out, breakfast, dinner time heavy apps and evening desserts. So far we’re really enjoying the start of our stay here and would return as well as recommend the hotel to friends as the pricing feels really reasonable for a hotel of this caliber.

"Needs Improvement – Small Rooms and Underwhelming Service"

The staff were not very helpful. I’ve stayed at other Marriott hotels in Canada, and unfortunately, the service here did not meet the standard I’ve come to expect. The hotel itself was not very impressive—the lobby was small, and the room felt quite cramped.

"Flea Infestation"

I traveled for work last week and respect that this is a pet friendly hotel. I wish I could say the stay was good, but it was the least sanitary room I’ve stayed in. Check in time is 4pm. I was told that my room wasn’t ready yet. Around 5pm the front desk called to say the room was ready. Fast forward and I’m noticing bug bites all over my body after sleeping in the bed. I look for obvious signs of bed bugs, but don’t see anything as large as them. Eventually, I pull back the covers and shine my phone flashlight to look closer. That’s where I spotted a few live fleas, and some dead ones. I also spotted what looked like larvae (gross). I then checked the floor and found many many more, as well as lots of random hair that wasn’t mine (which makes me think that housekeeping didn’t even vacuum). I then remembered that after I checked in, I noticed that the sheets were wrinkled and didn’t look very fresh, but I was in a hurry to get to a dinner meeting and didn’t think about it again until later. I called the front desk and asked to speak to a manager, who came up to take pictures, apologized, and moved my room for the final night. She also said that they sent in “pest control” to do “tests”, and I saw them going in without any gear or protection in their regular bellhop looking uniform. This person also looked really really young and informal to be pest control. The manager called me the next day to say that I should be “relieved” and that their tests didn’t yield any fleas. I asked for a copy of this report (if you can call it that) and warned them that not only should they not be comfortable renting out the flea infested room, but ALSO probably want to deep clean the room I was moved to as well because I still had some lingerers on my luggage from the former room. I have not been compensated in anyway, and spent my weekend after traveling trying to be sure that I don’t bring any fleas into my home. Additionally, I had to throw away every pair of socks I wore in that hotel room, because I realized that they were covered in dead bugs. I also threw away my brush and loofa for good measure. Just a gross and unpleasant experience. It also seemed really avoidable with some basic hygienic practices.
