Thousand Hills Resort Hotel in Branson, MO

Over all, not bad. Beds were comfy. A lot of pillows. It is not a resort. Room was basic, a step up from a motel. There is a large bank of elevators but is in one spot, in the middle of the hotel. Long hallways. Lower ceilings. Stairs unfortunately on ends of building. Room generally quiet. Hvac needs to be quieter. No fans in bathroom. Mini frig is okay. No freezer function. Coffee maker is one cup at a time. Bring more filters/coffee or bring your own coffee maker. TV is basic. There is wifi but kinda not working/unable to connect. One microwave per floor and one down in basement. There is housekeeping but you would have to seek them out for supplies. Fantastic staff - front office and housekeeping. Nice small bar. Medium to higher prices for drinks. Great bartenders. Service window for pool. Can order food at bar. TVs in bar. Swimming pool tiny. Towels are provided. Clean, but small area for such a large hotel. Liked the hallway of Veterans. Skip breakfast alltogether-nothing is fresh. Again loved all the staff here also (restaurant area). Parking lot, not for the weak footed.

We just checked out today and we will not be going back. We had 20 people on our group and we all had issues. No soap, shampoo or conditioner in the rooms. The hotel had run out! It was a day before we could get any. Our friends got locked in thier room when thier door knob broke. All of us had dirty rooms needle caps, razor blades, dirty underwear batteries and candy were just a few of the things we found in our rooms. The heating and cooling system did not work in some rooms. We did not have fridge or TV remote. This once grand hotel is rapidly declining

Hotel needs cleaned and updated. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Makeup on the wall. No daily cleaning. When towels were requested we told to leave the dirty ones outside in the hall. Piles of dirty sheets, towels and trash lined the halls. The staff was rude and unhelpful. Asked to speak with the manager (Mr. Campbell) several times but was told he was unavailable. Mattresses are worn out. Toilets are too low. Sink and showers did not drain properly. We aere overcharged. They assured me it was taken care of but it was not. They would not give me a print out of my receipt. Told me they would email it. Hasn’t happened. We had 5 rooms and this was true in all rooms.

This hotel is old, tired, and rooms are dirty. The beds had duvets that were lumpy and the air con was like a plane taking off. They did not service the rooms at all in 1 week unless you asked and even when i asked for more toilet paper it did not come. The restaurant breakfast was poo, no bacon, no pancakes ! which for US is standard, they wer not always open for lunch depsite our large group being in the hotel and the bar only opened at 5pm. The reception staff were sullen and except for a couple not very helpful. One of our trips we paid for through the hotel was cancelled but we are yet to get the money refunded. I would never stay here again.

I hope the owner reads this review: This hotel is fantastic. The room was great. Friendly staff. I loved Wildwood Bar and food from Jack Henry's. I come to Branson often and usually stay at Airbnb but would definitely come back here. I hear the owner also bought St James winery and I wonder who is manager there?? I go there all the time but in past year things have changed and not for the better. Not open for bar or food Mondays and Tuesdays and best people are let go. Maybe it's the managers fault?? Took Dees great desserts off menu earlier this year but brought it back by popular demand. Took some favorites off menu. Can't go outside on beautiful patio because not enough help. Crazy. Wake up and save this place!!
