We were included in an award ceremony held at the Orleans and decided to make a staycation out of it and stay the night. It's off the strip and not in the greatest area, so you have to look past the homeless population outside the property. Contactless checkin at the automated terminal was a plus. Overall the property is older and showing wear. Also unusually warm on the casino floor. The room was dated but reasonably appointed. The real issue was with a mold-like smell in the air. We got to the room late in the evening and we both woke up with eye and throat irritation and a cough. We were hoping to take it easy in the morning and have room service, but ended up leaving at the crack of dawn just to get out of that room. With no discount for locals, it's tough to find value in a $200+ per night stay.

"It’s not the glitz of Vegas you expect"

Located about 2 miles off the Las Vegas Vegas strip stands what is a relic to a bygone era. It is large and its location does offer some plus points for the passing traveller, including easy and I believe free or inexpensive parking. The rooms are large but outdated and requiring a much needed overhaul. There was a sitting area and two queen beds which like the rest of the facilities were outdated and in need of replacement - being very ‘springy’. The yellowing bathroom suites are very functional but look old. The broken furniture in my room was poor, but it did accommodate all my clothes. Be aware the hotel charges $39 to check-in at the registration desk with a human, requiring you to use the adjacent self check-in terminals. The pool area is quite expansive and with lots of seating, offering a good place to sit and swim. There is a 50 lane ten-pin bowling alley and a number of fast food outlets. But like everywhere within the hotel, you are a captive market with little else nearby so prices are expensive. ($14 for a basic subway). There a small number of internal restaurants but all have strange operating days and times so check. The American diner, was, in my opinion, the best and most cost effective with ‘proper’ not junk food. Service is great and included a novel robot cart that services the tables - at least it does not need tipping! I am still astounded that smoking is permitted in the public areas so there is a heavy overlay of stale smoke that pervades at all times. There is a shop and a bar across the road on one side and a mini supermarket and cafe on the other (but check opening times and the menu as neither matched what is publiisced). NB none of these are in any way affiliated to the hotel Let’s be clear, this not a modern swish hotel like its competitors on ‘the strip’ but a functional average hotel in need of some renovation

"Tired and dated."

We’ve been coming here for over a decade for an annual convention and the property has really declined over the last year. The rooms are over a decade since they last had a soft renovation, and the guestroom bathrooms are original to the property. They’re really dated and really tired and honestly aren’t even up to the standard of a discount hotel brand. The property really shows that it’s 30 years old at this point. The renovations to the meeting space on the second floor look great and are very welcomed. But the contrast with the sad state of the guest sleeping rooms is really obvious. Cigarette smoke permeates every single inch of this property and you cannot escape from it anywhere. Many people in our group after four or five days were sick because of it. The restaurants are very inconsistent in terms of days and hours they’re open, and you would think with a large group of several thousand people in the hotel, ownership would open things up so that they could accommodate such a large group. With TGI Friday’s being closed, late night dining is tough. We had one good service experience at breakfast, but regrettably our lunch and dinner service experiences at two of the other outlets on the property were really poor. The service was slow, items were missing, the restaurant was out of all kinds of different kinds of beer and food. I really think Boyd needs to put some serious money into this property.

Stayed for one night on a quick getaway. Never been, thought I’d try something completely different vs always staying at big names on strip. Was absolutely surprised how good it was. Super clean, Great rooms for the money, easy valet, fantastic casino with a lot of choices and they will pay. Staff was super friendly. Even had a Fuddrucker’s burger since I thought those went out of business. Give it a shot.

"Excited Guests"

I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding a recent stay at your hotel. My husband and I were in town specifically for a bowling tournament and were grateful for the opportunity to book at a discounted group rate. Upon checking in around 9:00 PM, we found our room to be dark and noticeably outdated. While we initially overlooked this, attributing it to the discounted rate, our frustrations began to mount later that evening. After dropping off our luggage, we decided to play a few games to unwind after our five-hour flight. However, when we returned to our room after midnight, I attempted to take a shower and discovered the water was excessively hot, making it unusable. We immediately contacted the front desk to report the issue. As I was already in my sleeping clothes, I was uncomfortable with an engineer entering our room to fix the problem, so we were moved to a different room instead. We had to move all of our belongings ourselves, and no assistance was offered, which was particularly frustrating given that we needed to wake up early for our tournament the next morning. Unfortunately, this significant disruption resulted in us being late for our scheduled tournament. Out of sheer frustration, I spoke with the front desk manager the next day and explained the entire situation. The manager offered a $46.00 compensation, which I accepted, believing that any compensation would be helpful. However, upon checkout, a different front desk agent informed us that the discount was only $24.00, stating that our rate was already discounted and a note saying resort fee waived. The front desk staff also seemed annoyed by our frustration throughout these interactions. I was very disheartened by the poor service we received during our stay. I strongly believe that all guests, regardless of their rate, deserve to be treated with friendliness and respect. I sincerely hope your staff receives proper training on how to handle similar situations in the future, as hospitality is, after all, your business. Pearlon and Ann Dizon
