"Perfect Charleston Hotel"

Such a fantastic visit! Thank you to everyone at the Dewberry for making me feel so welcome for my first trip to Charleston, especially Austin, Jared, Amanda and Sarah. (There were several others but I didn't get everyone's names.) The suite was beautiful and I loved the charming armoir, modern bathroom design and "suite treat" house made popcorn, view of the park and overall vibe of the hotel. I went to the rooftop Citrus Club with friends at night, such a spectacular view of the entire city. I also took the morning Pilates class with Erica which was excellent. The location was perfect, so easy to walk everywhere and I also borrowed a Volvo SUV as part of the driving program which was great. I highly recommend the hotel and look forward to returning - it's the perfect combination of southern charm, modern design, interesting history and exceptional service!

"Charming Charleston Hotel - The Dewberry"
TripAdvisor user rating 5.0 out of 5

Beautiful designer hotel blending southern historic architectural elements to create a comfortable design forward stay. Room are spacious and well thought out and reflect an updated mid century feel. The living room is super welcoming and draws you in as a relaxing space to read, do work and get food. The hotel offers a full breakfast offering and the entrees we had (steel cut oatmeal with fruit, avocado toast with hard boiled egg, and eggs prepared over easy with bacon and potatoes were all nicely prepared with ample servings and had the perfect amount of spice. We loved the hotel location across from the idyllic and picturesque Marion Square. Walking distance from all the popular sites and offered a nice reprieve.

"Unrealistic Cancellation Policy - Stay Elsewhere"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed September 02, 2025 NEW
My plans shifted so I sadly needed to cancel my trip. When I went to cancel, it was 45 minutes outside of their already unrealistic 72 hour cancellation window. They refused to budge on waiving this and are charging me for a full nights stay. This is horrible business and indicative of some of the other negative reviews that I see.
