Pros: it's not a casino, so no smoking. Cons: the associates has bad attitudes. The elevator was a nightmare. I took the stairs most times and I was on the 8th floor. It sometimes took 20 - 30 minutes to get on the elevator! They charge nightly resort fees even though the hotel is NOT a resort and there's nothing "resortsy" about it.

"Beautiful hotel, horrible room"

This hotel is beautiful and in my opinion unique due to its vintage style apart from other hotels, the rooms are my major complaint as the one I've stayed in was in awful condition. The room was generally unclean but tidy alongside the addition of a mold smell. Some standing lights did not work and a drawer was stuck, the bed was uncomfortable and later I discovered insects had bitten my arm resulting in aching. I'd love to come back here and see the improvements but generally, I'd steer clear of the hotel even if I'm not the one paying

"Go Somewhere ELSE. You will thank me!!!"

DON’T GO!!!!!!!!! It started outside. The valet was terrible. It is 25.00 to self park and 35.00 to valet. Waited almost 15 minutes to have a Valet attendant to show up. Went inside to check in and staff was unfriendly. I asked if they accepted Founders card. Staff had no ideal and was told to check with management in AM. Got to elevator. It took 13 minutes to get 1 elevator to lobby. People were trying to get on due to amount of time everyone had been waiting. Staff came over and told people to get off or elevator would stop. There was about 12 people on elevator. We got to room it was HOT at 10:00 at night. Had to go somewhere else for about an hour till we could stand to be in room. The pictures for this room is misleading. That furniture is not there. We had broken down plain beds. The bedding is the same as the pictures dated 2017. The windows in the room had not been cleaned in years. I have NEVER seen such dirty windows in an hotel before. At night you can not see out of the windows. My friend went into the bathroom and the door knob came out in her hand. I actually wanted to checkout and find another hotel that night but due to time and amount of time we had been traveling that day friend just said it’s just get through it. The vents in the room by the windows and ceiling are coated with dust as well as the vents in the bathroom. It is listed as a Marriott property but the front desk the next day said it was independent and not connected to Marriott. The bathroom does have granite and tile and it was the best part of the room but it has rust in it. I will never stay here again. I have stayed in far better hotels for 50.00 and this cost upwards of 190.00 for 1 night for a double room. We stayed in room 712. At check out, I asked again about the founders card as this will usually remove resort fees. I was told they don’t do this as they are independent. I saw absolutely nothing that warranted a resort fee. On a positive note the valet guys in the morning was very fast. Again go somewhere else! You can go somewhere else and get a much nicer room for much less.

This is a fantastic historic hotel in AC. You can feel the history when you get there. Great location. Right of the boardwalk and connected to casino right next door. The Vue rooftop is awesome and Jerry the bartender has the best energy. Go to this place asap.

"Terrible Customer Service and Dirty Rooms"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed September 07, 2024
I booked 2 rooms and most of this relates to both rooms. Dirty room never cleaned after reporting after check-in (floor looked as never vacuumed, dirty around edge of bathroom floor, and dirty coffee maker) phone in room didn't work had to go to desk couldn't call down. Terrible desk staff check-rep was not friendly didn't care that we were checking in- just unfriendly. On 9/4 my room was serviced by housekeeping and they took all the towels and never replaced them - I went to the front desk in the morning at about 7am on 9/5 to tell them and when I got back at 3pm still no towels told desk staff again and when I got back at 8pm still no towels had to go to desk 3 times to get towels for room. Had no water due to pipe break and unable to wash before bed. Staff put up no notice in lobby we only found out when went inside the rooms and had to go down to find out what was going on and received rudeness and lack of caring. When water was back on had no hot water that next morning had to take cold shower and water ran brown. I am glad I still get charged resort fees for such lousy service and issue after issues with rooms. They never offered any kind of compensation for the on going issues. I would never stay here or recommend The Claridge to anyone.
