"Great location, hotel - mediocre at best"

You can't beat this location if you are going to the Aquarium, Center for Human Rights, or the Coke Experience. The hotel literally looks over the aquarium parking deck. They also offer discounted "anytime" ticket to the aquarium at the front desk. This was a nice benefit. Unfortunately, the property knows the draw is the location. This room, which was an upgraded room with the larger windows, was as much as the Omni and Westin up the street and only about $20 less a night than the Ritz in Atlanta. Definitely not worth the money and I would not stay here again. The hotel appeared to be fine when we arrived. However, as soon as we hit the room, we had disappointing moments. The phone didn't work, there were lights that didn't work, the headboard was so scratched up and the leather damaged it looked like someone with a feral cat lived there, the toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall, and throughout the "suite" (which is not a suite) there were incidents of fluid splashed on and staining the walls. The bathroom was very large, and the floor-to-ceiling windows were nice - even if the main sight was a parking garage. The proverbial final straw was that after arriving late in the evening, the restaurant was closed, and we ordered DoorDash. While sitting on the couch and eating, some food dropped on the floor. When we wiped it up the towel came up solid black. The floors obviously had not been cleaned - perhaps in a while. We thought the cleaning service in the morning would clean it up. However, and they don't tell you this at check-in or anywhere on the website. They only clean the rooms every other to every 3rd day. So after a full day of sightseeing, we came home to full garbage, used towels, and a room that smelled like last nights delivery. I called the desk to register my disappointment and order clean towels from housekeeping. The next morning at 7AM on a Sunday, the housekeeping manager woke us up (4 times), not to apologize or clean the mess but to inform us that they do not clean the rooms every day. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and I will not stay here, or probably with this brand again.

"Bed Bugs abd Management did nothing about it"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed November 23, 2025 NEW
Absolutely appalling experience from start to finish — both the hotel conditions and the management’s dishonest handling of a serious health issue. We stayed in Room 609, which was already in poor condition: crumbs on the floor, dirty surfaces, and peeling headboards. But the real nightmare began at 3 a.m. on Nov 7th, when I woke up to a full-sized adult bedbug crawling on my arm. It had not yet fed. When we turned on the lights, we found another bedbug on the second bed — this one engorged with blood. We immediately packed up and left the property in the middle of the night for another Marriott nearby. We even brought the bedbugs to the front desk, but were told nothing could be done until morning. We were promised a manager would call us, and the next day we were assured by Maya — as well as in an email from corporate — that we would receive a full refund. Two weeks later, nothing. No refund, no follow-up, nothing. When we called again, a manager named Ruby claimed an “inspection” found only Asian lady beetles. That is absurd. We know exactly what Asian lady beetles look like — we deal with them regularly at home, I have taken entimology courses for my biology minor— and what we found in that bed were unmistakably bedbugs. The abdomen and head were clearly distinct and the insects did not have wings and the one that had not fed was flat... asian lady beetles have wings and the head/body are merged... the blatant lies are disturbing. A 5 year old could tell the difference. Truly insulting that they think they could make such a claim. We have photos and videos of the adults we found, including clear images of their shape, ridged abdomen, and the blood-filled bug before it was killed. A basic online image search would confirm this instantly and a regular person that has not studied bugs would be able to identify these insects from the distinct characteristics and a simple Google photo search. At this point, it’s hard to believe the specimen we brought to the front desk was even examined. The hotel seems far more interested in denying and deflecting than in addressing a legitimate infestation or honoring the refund they already agreed to. Being gaslit after experiencing something this serious is beyond unacceptable. We’ve taken extensive precautions to avoid bringing these pests home, but guests should not have to deal with this in the first place. We have since received our refund after having to reach out several additional times. This review is driven more by management's handling of the situation. This is a clear warning to anyone considering this hotel: the room conditions are terrible, the health risks are real, and the management’s disregard for guest safety — and for the truth — is genuinely disturbing.
