"A hotel to stay away from"

Although there have been some updates since June of 2024, the hotel is still in great need of updating and upgrading. Positives are an added food kiosk and remodeling the ACE eatery are it. The hotel is still decorated much the same as when it was a casino in 2014. There are no automatic opening doors to enter the hotel a terrible miss for the handicap and everyone struggling with luggage. To get a luggage cart you have to locate a valet. Never know if they're are parking cars, in the bellhop room or in the unmarked valet office outside. The room is remodeled but the shower head is level with my throat. I am 5'9", the bathtub drainage is very slow, the lighting is not bright enough. Since opening the waterpark, the hotel pool is closed! So pay for the waterpark or go to the beach. The available internet is terrible. I had to reconnect every 15 to 20 minutes. When I called the front desk I was flatly and unequivocally told NO, there is no help for internet problems! Logon on again, which I wasn't required to do. Don't plan on doing any work if you that's a requirement to stay here. There is a lingering odor of marijuana smoke throughout the building, even in our room, just in the bathroom for some reason! The garage is the worst offender in being permeated with pot smoking. The elevators work but the floor lights do not work all the time so you don't know if you will stop at your floor. There are signs that read use your room key for floors 5-25. Never had to use my room key to press floor button. As in most hotels there is no more daily cleaning of rooms. if you need anything, you have to tell the front desk who tell the housekeeping staff, MAYBE. When we returned to our room to get ready for dinner, I had to call the front desk for towels, toilet paper, kleenix, etc., although we handed the front desk a list when we left the hotel in the morning.

"A wonderful place for the weekend or longer. The Showboat is in a fantastic location for all your wants"

The Showboat is a classic Atlantic City hotel. Although some rooms are a little well loved from years of visits, the room we had in the Bourbon Tower was very beautiful and the bed very comfortable. It was a one bedroom suite. Our checkin experience with Larry was excellent and he took great care of us. Also his manager Amanda was very nice and helpful. The Waterpark there is amazing and filled with great things to do for those of all ages. If you aren't traveling with kids, the adult pool with swim up bar was a wonderful oasis away from the busy areas of the slides and kiddie pools. I did miss having a casino in the hotel but the Hard Rock or Ocean have casinos right next door

"Showboat Hotel and Island Water Park"

We usually stay at a different casino but stayed here because of the Island Water Park deal. When we arrived at 12 noon we paid $30 for an early check into each of our 2 rooms for our 2 night stay. We were given 2 different reservations because of the waterpark deal which you can only have when the park is actually opened. Our rooms were on the 14th floor in the ocean tower. The hall was dingy and the rugs were stained. The room was absent of a safe, coffee maker, etc. which were advertised. I stopped at the desk and spoke with Leslie who was quite professional. She offered to change our rooms and did so and gave us some bonus points for the water park for the inconvenience . We went to the Bourbon Tower on the 5th floor and it was indeed much brighter with evident updates. It did include a safe but no coffee maker. Apparently since they opened a food kiosk on the main floor they are eliminating the coffee makers. The arcade is a draw for kids and has a lot to offer but be aware that the times do not match up. For example closing time at 11pm is fine but the redemption shop closed at 9:30pm so the kids couldn’t pick out their prizes. They announce it is closing while they are still playing and accumulating their points. The next morning our keys stopped working because they checked us out. It was straightened out at the front desk by another lovely employee but again an inconvenience. There are a few food options at Showboat. The kiosk with coffee, pastries, etc was great. The Ace restaurant for dinner left a lot to be desired. Again the staff was nice. The hot dogs were hard and served on a hero. Mac and cheese was ok. We saw a lot of people picking up pizza pies so might be a good option. The Island Waterpark was great, clean and worth the visit
