"My experience at Riviera Resort South Beach Miami was extremely frustrating and disappointing."

I arrived for check-in around 10:00–10:30 PM, already tired from traveling. As soon as the front desk agent looked at my reservation, she appeared visibly shocked, as if the hotel was oversold and my room was not actually available. She kept searching in the system for about 20 minutes, stalling and providing no clear explanation. After that, she handed me a key card and said that was my room. When I arrived, I immediately realized it had nothing to do with what I had reserved. I had booked a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen and living room, and instead I was given a tiny room with just a bed, no kitchen, no living space, nothing close to what I paid for. I went back to the front desk to question it. Only then did she send someone to check another building, and after more waiting, they finally placed me in a room that matched my reservation. Even then, the room had a strong mold/mildew smell, looked old, and had poor-quality finishes. The room does not represent the online photos at all. The pictures make the hotel look modern, but in reality it feels outdated and poorly maintained. To make things worse, during check-in the agent was speaking Spanish with another employee. I recognized her accent as being from the same country as mine, so in a friendly way I asked if she was from that country. She responded in a very arrogant manner, saying she does not disclose her personal life. Despite realizing we shared the same nationality, she refused to speak our native language and kept the interaction cold and dismissive. Hospitality is about respect and welcoming guests, and that was completely lacking here. I do not recommend this hotel.

"A bit on the poor side."

The plus side is that the location is good. The down side is that our room was poor. Door wouldn't open properly. Fridge leaked onto the floor. Air-conditioning sounds like a jet taking off. The shower, though good, spilled water onto the bathroom floor because the screen was of insufficient size and whoever decided it was a good idea to have the sink in the bedroom instead of the bathroom was an idiot. The bed was comfortable enough. The whole hotel was just a bit on the untidy side.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The rooms are super small and stuff in the room is broken. Like a lamp and mirror the fridge. The toilet paper they use is so gross. The staff is super rude. The tv in the room is so old and the picture is hardly there. They have a mobile air conditioner in the room and the blinds don’t work They make you pay $40 for parking and you have to pay that every time you get the car. The parking garage they have you in is horrible. If you have a suv good luck. Trust me this place should be shut down it is so gross. I will Never stay here again. And like I said the staff is super rude. Be ware if you come this crap hole.

We booked a double queen room with the intention of using the pull out sofa for an additional guest. Upon checking in, we were told that our room was in the building across the street. All of the hallways were musty. The elevator fit three people and it was very rickety. Once we entered the room we saw that it had not been improved upon in decades. When we pulled out the sofa bed we noticed that it was broken. When we used the shower water came up from the floorboards into the bedroom, and there were also large hair balls around the room. The first morning we were there I went down and spoke to someone who seemed like a manager. I told her all these things and asked if someone could come up to the room to check them, she wrote them all down on a Post-it note and walked away. Needless to say no one had come up to the room our entire stay to check on or fix these issues. There was also no offer to move us to another room. The pool needs to be cleaned and there is no one working either of the bars that I saw. The last morning we awoke to rain coming in through the windows and spilling all over the windowsills and floor. At checkout I told the front desk about this and they did not seem concerned at all and just said they would send someone to go look at it. I’ve seen many reviews for this hotel, and when anything negative is said the hotel responds that they will fix it and do better, but needless to say I don’t see that happening. I advise you to choose another hotel.

This hotel is terrible no one cares and it took an hour to check in and only one staff member was on the desk. I moved room as the first one was dirty there was a screw holding down the flooring which I cut my foot on the ac thermostat didn’t work the sheets are supposed to be white but are grey along with the towels the linen is just disgusting to be honest. There was blood on the walls the safe didn’t work either. You can hear every noise from the other guests staying above you the staff don’t care. Honestly there were so many people complaining at the desk. I moved hotel it was that bad felt like I couldn’t walk about the room in my bare feet the room smelled of cigarettes as well even though it’s a non smoking hotel it’s badly run. Save your money do not stay here honestly you will regret it. I could go on forever here but there’s was so much wrong with this hotel so many unhappy people surprised it’s still Running. I wouldn’t say I’m overly fussy but a clean room is a must.
