"One night pre cruise"
TripAdvisor user rating 4.0 out of 5

This was a one night pre cruise stay. We therefore did not get the chance to use the facilities of the hotel. We arrived around 10pm, and had checked out by 10.30am the following morning. Location wise, its a 6 minute walk to the beach. There are plenty of cafes, bars and shops (incl cvs pharmacy) all very closeby. This is a super location. Reception was quiet at 10pm and we had a quick check in. Our allocated room was on the ground floor of the annexe. The room was large with a separate living area. Twin comfy beds, kitchenette with fridge, large flat screen tv etc. Two things of note - very quiet room and great black out curtains. We had breakfast at the cafe which is part of the hotel grounds. Service and food was very good. Note that there is a resort fee at this hotel, which per night including tax is around $33 per room. Considering we were in the hotel no more than 12 hours, we felt this charge to be on the high side. Note also the hotel does NOT offer luggage storage. Whereas this did not affect us, it was noticeable that it did affect other guests

"It was actually very nice...."

Listen im going to be 100% honest, i booked this hotel as a mystery hotel thru Hotwire, i had an idea of what hotel i was getting by looking at pics on their site and going to the hotel site. Now as a frequent traveler, im a hotel snob. I had previously booked three different hotel stays and cancelled everyone of them because i kept reading bad reviews online and i was instantly icked out. I saw a review on tiktok after i confirmed my booking and saw that i was staying at the riviera. I was instantly excited. However i then came online and read page after page after page of deplorable reviews. I only stayed for one night as i was going on a cruise the next day. Let me say this i was pleasantly surprised. When i arrived the night clerk, who was very pretty was nice and accomodating, as i arrived late. She gave me directions on how to get to my room. The riviera is comprised of 2 or maybe 3 buildings. I was directed to a building across the street from the front desk. My ONLY complaint is the damp smell of the hotel, but i kind of expect that in beach area type hotels. It was a bit off putting .. other than that , when i entered my room it was lovely, and spotlessly clean. I was expecting it to be terrible. The room had a comfortable king bed, a kitchenette area with a fridge, sink , microwave and whatever amenities you would need. The bathroom was spacious and had a open shower floor plan. The hotel is older, and the decor gives old glamour to me. I personally did not find absolutely anything wrong with this place. Staff was friendly, the room was clean, the AC was cold, i had a nice view of the pool. Sometimes you have to just see for yourself. I would absolutely stay here again , my only gripe is i havent received my deposit back yet and its been 5 days.

"Not coming back"

Booked this hotel for a 4 day stay in SoBe. The reviews sounded good, we knew that we couldn’t expect a highclass luxury stay but ouch.. this hotel is not worth a stay. The lady at the reception should pick another job. Never had a receptionist before that looked so bored and unmotivated.. the rooms are old and run down and need a renovation.. the location is good, the Miami Beach Trolley stops right in front of the hotel and it’s just a 10-15 min walk to Ocean Drive and like 3-4 min to the beach. You have a CVS across the street and some parking lots. The worst part is that they „buy“ good reviews.. we were offered a early checkin for free if we write a good review on Google. That’s why it has such a good rating although it’s not worth a stay.

"Great location for 21 year olds wanting to party in Miami Beach not great for families or R&R"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5
Reviewed March 14, 2026 NEW
Great location just a short walk to the beach. Beds were comfortable and it seemed pretty clean. The staff were friendly enough and it seemed like there were 2 people behind the desk at all times. The hotel seems a little run down though and it seems like they are just adding more paint to air freshener instead of fixing issues. The lobby had an awfully strong perfume smell that was overwhelming. There are people sitting in front of the hotel in chairs smoking weed, cigars and cigarettes throughout the day and no one from the staff says anything despite signs being posted. We did not have any washcloths in our room only 4 bath towels. The fridge was shoved in the closet and the door to the fridge did not close properly and it felt warm. The door to our room did not shut unless you slammed it. We had to get our keys to the room reset 2 of the 3 days we stayed. The music is blaring all night- which is great if you are there to party all night but not great for sleeping. That being said our door block out alot of the noise. This is a great hotel if you are 21,are there to party and you want to be close to the beach but I wouldn’t suggest it for people with families or people that came for rest and relaxation.

"Be aware, some rooms have very noisy toilets"

The facility is decent; however, the toilet is making a terrible noise upon flushing. Personnel refused to address it; they promised to fix it "tomorrow" and never offered us another room. Travelers, be aware: check everything before unpacking!
