"Scammed hundreds for a “room deposit” fee"

FOR THE RIVIERA HOTEL – SOUTH BEACH, MIAMI: At check-in for a fully prepaid room, I was asked to provide a card for a deposit, which staff said would be refunded in full after checkout. A week after leaving the room in good condition, I reviewed my charges and saw a $147 fee for a “resort fee” (not disclosed at booking) and for allegedly taking a bottle of hotel vodka; which was never present in the room. I called on April 19 at 3:47 PM EST to resolve the issue. While explaining the situation, whoever was managing the front desk at this time and day, the staff member cut me off and transferred me to a general help line. When I called back, the same woman answered and immediately hung up. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend booking here due to unexpected charges and lack of customer support.

Room not fit for purpose. Water leaking through floors in living room and bedroom. Absolutely filthy and very dated. Room 319 avoid at all cost! Promised refund from Hotel manager/Supervisor but promise not upheld! Choose another hotel! Not worth the money!

Good option for a relaxing visit to Miami Beach. This hotel is located close enough to enjoy the main areas in south Beach but situated away enough to have a quiet time, rest and recharge. The staff is professional and caring. The front desk is very helpful and try its best to accommodate requests - shout out to Nelson and Cristian!

I want to start by saying, the staff was great, the hotel, not so much. We stayed here for an event in Miami Beach (HYROX), and it was a disaster. So many people were waiting for rooms, so many who had their reservations canceled, etc. We were told our room would be ready, only to find that our toilet was broken and we would have to wait several more hours. Once we finally got into our room, we were told we could not use the toilet for another couple of hours as it needed to dry, and they had even removed the toilet seat/lid to prevent us from using it. The room itself was disgusting and dirty. Stuff all over the floor, the bathroom counter was full of hair and dirty, the 'white' towels were more like gray, the shower was so tiny and had no door, so the water got all over the floor, making us have to use all of our towels so we didn't slip and die on the wet tile. We requested more towels since we ran out and never got any. Every time you moved on the bed, the entire thing moved and made a loud noise - granted, it was not uncomfortable, just SUPER noisy. The entire room and bathroom was SO dark that you could barely see to put your contacts in, and very tiny. The ceiling was a gross, unfinished, exposed concrete, and not a fun, modern type style either. Our last night, there were people partying outside our room in the corridor that were so loud I finally had to yell at them to "shut up!" That morning, we saw nothing but beer cans and bottles, wine bottles, etc., all over the place, and broken furniture. Everything was also very damp and wet, including all our bath towels. I've traveled a lot and stayed at a lot of hotels, even cheap roadside ones, and this was by far the worst room I've ever stayed in.
