Kings Inn in San Diego

I had a wonderful stay at Kings Inn. The room were clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, tge staff very nice and fully at rhe ready to help with a smile.

My 4 kids and I have stayed at Kings Inn every summer for over 10 years. While it’s never been a five-star hotel, we’ve always appreciated the location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. Sadly, things have changed — and after our most recent stay, we will never return. During this trip, our beds were not made for two days, so I called to ask why we weren’t getting housekeeping. Ryan at the front desk was extremely rude. He questioned how many people were in our room and accused us of having more than allowed — even claiming he saw us on camera. I explained that two friends were visiting briefly while their dad was on the way to pick them up, but Ryan threatened that if he “saw more than four people in the room again,” we’d be kicked out. While waiting at the pool for our friends to be picked up, I sent my 14-year-old daughter in to get more towels. Ryan yelled at her, accused me of lying, and refused to give her towels — leaving her in tears for hours. That night at 10 PM, he called and told us we had to leave immediately or he would call the police. I explained that I've always stayed in 1 room with my 4 kids and we've never had an issue. My kids were sleeping, and I begged to wait until morning, but he refused. We were given 30 minutes to pack up and leave, and my children were crying as we scrambled to gather our things. After a decade of loyalty, this was the most humiliating and upsetting experience I’ve ever had at any hotel. The way my family — especially my children — was treated was completely unacceptable. Kings Inn used to feel like a welcoming, family-friendly place, but now it’s clear we are no longer valued guests.

Check in - even after 11pm super easy & fast Staff very kind Rooms clean and tidy Pool and Jakuzzi is great ( changing room/ restroom/ showering facility next to the pool would be great in the future )

Great find , had an left over issue from previous guest in our room but manager rectified the situation fast. Pool great, room clean. On site restaurants are IMHO affordable and delicious 😋. Savings tip stay away from the nearby convenience/liquor store very pricey.

Such a wonderful place. Rooms are clean (our room looked newly renovated), they have a nice area for seating in the shade. The desk clerks were amazing. We got there quite a bit early, requested early check in and they called me when my room was ready - which was also right where I had requested it. Food at the Amigo Spot was great - and, of course, The Waffle Spot was so yummy. BONUS: there is a great liquor store/restaurant walking distance!
