"Nice basecamp to explore Atlanta in a few days"

Hyatt has really amzaed me this time. The room was very nice, clean, and big. The couch and mattress added lot of comfort to my stay, and I have slept much better here than in other places in Atlanta. The price is fair for this hotel brand and the location is just a few minutes walking from MARTA transportation (airport and Atlanta metro area), the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola museum, and the Olympic Centennial Park. The breakfast was regular (both english and continental) but good. The fitness center is small (just 2 treadmill, 1 bike, and 1 elliptical, and 2x5lb weights). The surrounding might look dirty at the beginning, but nobody annoys you while walking around. I enjoyed the stay and totally loved my room, and it is a great location if you are on budget.

"Avoid this hotel – completely unprofessional and irresponsible management."
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

Avoid this hotel – completely unprofessional and irresponsible management. I travel frequently for academic and professional conferences (100+ hotel bookings over the past 10 years), and I can confidently say this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Despite having a confirmed, prepaid reservation, after waiting for almost an hour in the lobby while the front desk “checked the system,” I was told no rooms were available. They handed me a piece of paper and said they had arranged a room for me at their Buckhead location (10+ miles away from Downtown). Exhausted and needing rest before an important conference presentation, I trusted them and took a Lyft (about $50) to the other hotel — only to be told there was no record of any reservation or arrangement, and advised to call their customer service. After being on call with their own customer support for about 2 hours, the security told me that I needed to leave the lobby around 2 a.m. I ended up without accommodation until nearly 4:00 a.m., after hours of unnecessary stress and wasted time. The next morning, I was late to my conference, missed networking opportunities, and struggled through my presentation after a sleepless night. Because of this misleading information and completely irresponsible handling, I: -Missed important parts of my professional conference the next morning, including key networking sessions; -Was too exhausted to perform at my best during my presentation; and -Incurred unnecessary transportation and lodging expenses. To make matters worse, the management never responded to my initial follow-up email for days. When I contacted Hyatt Customer Service, they told me that the hotel falsely marked the case as “resolved,” despite no resolution or compensation being provided. This entire ordeal was the result of gross mismanagement, lack of accountability, and complete disregard for guest wellbeing. A confirmed and prepaid booking should mean something — guests should not be stranded in the middle of the night because of hotel errors and then ignored afterward. If you’re considering staying here—don’t. Their lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic responsibility is appalling. Book anywhere else to avoid a similar nightmare.

"Great service. Great breakfast. small bathroom."

Great service, great breakfast, smooth check-in and checkout. Bathroom is small. Their restaurant quits servicing at 9pm except for pizza. We saw information that made it look like it closed at 10pm.

"Think twice before booking. Dirty and run down hotel."
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed October 25, 2025
There are motels nicer than this hotel. The entire hotel is dirty, dingy, and run down. It is shocking that this property carries the Hyatt Place name. It’s in such a bad area that the front door is always locked and you can’t even get in the lobby without a key so if you’re trying to check in you’ll be standing in front of the glass doors until someone lets you in. Fitness center is a joke and is missing items. Hallways smelled bad, like a mix of smoke and mold. You can tell that the carpeted floors have not been changed in decades by how dirty they looked. Even the lights in the room were all mismatched and different colored bulbs. The staff were nice but there was always only one person. Truly a disappointing hotel, and unworthy of the Hyatt name. To whoever runs this hotel - you desperately need to update this entire hotel.
