"Lovely Hotel, Lousy Room"

The hotel is lovely and well situated. Staff is attentive. Steer clear of room 213. The air conditioner is very loud and disrupts sleep. The windows are frosted so you don’t see the large compressor on the roof - so no view. No hot water - lukewarm at best.

"Intentionally Undisclosed Daily Fees"

Hotel Teatro intentionally manipulates its customers by not disclosing $30/day “amenity” fees. These fees will not be included in your original price and only be sent to you when you check-out (they will take your card at check-in and say its for deposit etc.). It is a shame that an otherwise charming (although rooms are dated) hotel, with hospitable staff, would stoop to these levels to make extra fees and trick price-based search engine results.

"Elegant setting, amazing service and cozy warm atmosphere"

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Teatro! Dinner at the Nickel was so delicious and the Manager Saleem gave us excellent personal service. The room was luxurious, especially the amazing bathtub! We enjoyed the library and had our complimentary Prosecco before we left. Blake, our Valet, also gave us great service and we had a nice chat with him. Overall, a very lovely time. I'd love to stay again.

"Disappointed with the Service at Hotel Teatro"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed May 14, 2025
We have stayed at Hotel Teatro regularly for conferences, but unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning. When I booked our reservation online, I noted our request for an early check-in and followed up with a phone call to confirm it was documented. Despite this, when my colleague arrived, she was told she had not paid for early check-in, though that option was never provided in the first place. After a frustrating wait, she was finally able to check in, only to find that the room did not meet expectations. Given our loyalty to this property, we expected a higher standard of service and accommodation. We truly hope Hotel Teatro addresses these issues for future guests, but sadly, we will be taking our business elsewhere moving forward.

"$500 view of the garage :("

I travel extensively but don’t always write reviews. I had been looking forward to staying at this hotel before my conference. The web photos look beautiful and charming. But I have to say I’m disappointed and glad I have a one night stay. I checked in around 9:30pm after many flight delays. The web said the restaurant closed at 10 but sadly when I arrived exhausted and hungry from my travels, the front desk told me it had already closed at nine. My options were to leave the hotel again and go someplace close by or order from an outside delivery service. I was too tired for either. The room was very small but well styled. When I walked to the window to check out my view, for $479/night, the HVAC system and garage stared back at me through a dusty window. I trudged back downstairs, hoping to get a better view for my one night stay. I was told by the front desk that they were “very near” capacity and got an apology that it couldn’t be helped. That said, neither the service nor accommodations are ones I would recommend at this price point. If you do decide to stay here, ask questions in advance to ensure your room will be worth it.
