Number one, it was advertised as a Hilton hotel and it is not. Once we got there, and checked in, we see why it is no longer Hilton. The front desk was not properly equipped to serve guests. They have a small store with no bags? ! The room was not inviting. The phone didn’t work. On the last day, we had breakfast at the buffet which was not inexpensive. From the beginning, the waiter told us that we had to be finished at a certain time so they could get ready for the brunch crowd. Then he kept coming back and saying are you done working that, referring to our breakfast ! The first time my husband told him no we are straight we don’t need anything. And he kept coming back around, as if he were trying to rush us out of there. By the second or third time, my husband was aggravated because he told him twice this is a buffet, We don’t need help and then my husband said leave us alone and then he got real disrespectful and made snide comments so my husband stood up and said please leave us alone, while my husband took a video. Then he called security. We have traveled all over the world, and we have never been treated like this. They need to remove The Hilton logo from their advertising as it is false advertising. I have informed Hilton, and Chase travel of these events.

"No Longer a Hilton Hotel, No Longer Great"

Hotel Maya recently broke from the Hilton brand and is now an independent hotel. I’ve stayed her a few times with my kids and it felt family friendly. I’m hoping this is just a rough transition, because as of now, I will not be coming back to this hotel by myself or with my family. The Pool: While at the pool, we witnessed mutltiple people sneaking into the pool. A few even smoked pot in the corner area. A few separate groups were loud and played inappropriate music. It was a shame because our kids love the pool, but it felt very off. When we got to the pool, there were no towels. An employee did come by with towels about 45 minutes later, but didn’t do anything about the music or loud groups. The Room: The air conditioner is a floor air conditioning unit that is controlled by a wall thermostat. It was incredibly loud and turned off and on all night. We were on the fourth floor and it was incredibly loud until 10:30pm.

Pros: Very close to cruise terminal. Cons: Very expensive, our handicap accessible room had two choices to get to it, either go up 6 steps or walk 1/4 mile on sidewalk to another entrance, shuttle driver looked insulted when I tipped him $20 for a 4 minute ride.
