"Very Good Hotel/ Recommend"

Excellent upgrades to a favorite hotel. The rooms are clean and all staff are positive and very accommodating. Walkable to everything downtown Portland has to offer and in a relatively safe area in regards to what’s left commercially in this part of the city. Didn’t try the in hotel restaurant as there are many wonderful eating places nearby. The only negative and the reason for the. 4 stars, is on the last night of our stay, the room smelled like marijuana which made for a rough night. Either the filtering system in the hotel was off or one of our neighbors at the Hilton was violating the no smoking policy. Highly recommend if the price is in your budget as compared to other downtown Portland hotels.

"Great hotel"

Great hotel, staff, and food. My biggest issue was that the room key, which was actually in an app on my phone, worked better. Loved not having to wait at the front desk to check in. We surprisingly came back to a cleaned up room without having to ask for housekeeping. The food was very good, if expensive, but they seemed to be a little short staffed and service was slow. Friendly, but slow.

"I guess I shouldn't have been surprised"

As others have said, the only thing great is the location. Hilton sent me emails the day before saying I could choose my room which I did. They also said I could have "keyless contactless entry" and just go directly to my room. Of course this involved giving my VISA number so they could charge it. My phone just said "preparing your room" all the way until we arrived at 5:30 pm. So we had to go to the front desk and the man at the front desk knew nothing about it and said "well of course you can't just go to your room, you have to pay first!". He then took my credit card and never acknowledged me again because he was too busy flirting with my daughter. There is no parking unless you want to pay $55 nightly valet so we just parked in a local garage. He also put $150 more on my card than my reservation had guaranteed. He didn't mention the reason so when I got to my room and saw I had been charged $575 for two nights instead of $400 (which was only because I was here for a conference. It's usually considerably higher), I had to go back down stairs and another front desk person informed me that was a charge for "incidentals" that would come off when I check out. It would have been nice if the original guy had mentioned that or just gave me any information at all. The room was clean and fairly quiet because we paid extra to get a room on the 20th floor. There is no refrigerator which is frustrating. Overall, I would not stay here again, especially if I had to pay full price.

I’m not a fan of complaints, those normally don’t ever get resolved, just answered with apologies and words that mean nothing and resolve nothing. Upon check in I was told to return to the front desk to get a Senior discount and a discount from AAA. Got a few text messages telling me that indeed they would give discounts without any issues. Upon check out not one person knew what I was talking about even after showing them my text messages from the Hotel about discounts. Then I was told that discounts were only found on line while booking. I told them that not every senior has the ability to go to web sites or even look up anything on a computer. Even in this age, some seniors struggle. Their breakfest was high in cost considering that even the Hilton Embassy’s across the country have free breakfest for their guest and offer free parking. Which was very very high. In fairness, the room was comfortable but I wouldn’t suggest staying at the Hilton if your a Senior or Military for that matter. Absolutely no direction in resolving issues of this kind. The cost was Extraordinarily high cost.

"Excellent customer Service - thank you Eric Straub"

We stayed at the Hilton Portland Downtown and the accommodation was superb. Eric Straub was at the front desk and went above and beyond to ensure that all our needs were met in addition to giving us ideas for restaurants. We misplaced our hotel keys several times and Eric continued to reissue new ones. Eric is definitely an asset to the Hilton Hotel chain.
