I booked this stay expecting a quality Hilton beach resort experience. Unfortunately, the Alii Tower room I received was in very poor condition and not clean, which significantly detracted from my trip. Check-in took over 30 minutes at the Alii desk with only one staff member assisting another guest, and there was no luggage assistance. The first room assigned was extremely loud. The second room had multiple serious issues, including worn and stained furniture, stained drapes, and a bathroom with mold in the shower and ceiling, cracked tiles, peeling paint, and dirty fixtures. Additional problems included dirty, stained bathrobes and empty shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers, which I discovered the morning of checkout while already in the shower and preparing to leave. Hotel management later acknowledged the issues but refunded only one night, placing responsibility on me for not reporting every issue sooner. Basic cleanliness and room condition should not be the guest’s responsibility to identify. This stay did not meet Hilton standards or the expectations of a premium resort booking. I would not recommend this property.

This was a last minute college reunion over Memorial Day. Friends were already there for the week and invited me to join them. I booked Ali’i tower through capital one travel and the rates were lower than other website (about 250 per night). I just traveled with one kid, as the rest of the family had commitments back home. Ali’i tower is nice because it has a separate check in desk and you don’t need to deal with the crowds at main lobby. You also get robes, fridge and a beach bag to use, which is convenient. The room was comfortable, quiet and spacious. I have stayed at the village many times since childhood, but this was the first time at Ali’i. I liked it, but for a longer trip I would prefer the Grand Vacations rooms with kitchen and laundry. My kid loved the Japanese restaurant and ABC store onsite, as well as dole whip at the coffee shop. We took the public rental scooters to McDonald’s, Ala Moana, and Duke beach nearby. The Ali’i has a private pool on 2nd floor with a bar and some nice views, but the pool itself is small and old. Wonderful staff all around.
