Due to the snowstorm, we unexpectedly needed to extend our stay by one night. Unfortunately, the hotel—and many nearby—were fully booked. When it became clear we would have to cancel our reservation, Benjamin at the front desk handled the situation with professionalism and empathy. He took the time to work with us and, within his discretion, helped us navigate a stressful moment. His willingness to advocate on our behalf and work within the policies available to him made a stressful experience much more manageable. Benjamin represents the hotel well, and his customer-focused approach during our emergency situation exemplifies the kind of service that builds lasting customer loyalty We’re very grateful for his support and wanted to recognize him for his compassion during our difficult situation.

Aden at the front desk is awesome. He always makes our stay excellent. The breakfast needs some help. They were not ready at 7am any of the 6 days we stayed this trip or the last. We are here for work and need to get in and out quickly in the morning. Has not been the same since the private company took over the restaurant.

We had booked a room here and I fortunately was able to cancel after we walked in and saw luggage scattered everywhere with no one, keeping an eye on it and only one overworked employee behind the counter, trying to restock drinks and manage everything. As a diamond member, I’m supposed to be able to check in a little earlier than 4 PM, but they said everyone was late checking out so that was not possible. The place that just looked unkempt and cluttered with luggage everywhere so it was hard to even navigate the lobby.

I stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn from December 29, 2025 through January 3, 2026 as a Hilton Honors Gold member. While the location is excellent and some staff interactions were polite, several aspects of the stay fell below the standards I typically experience at Hilton properties. Gold member benefits were not proactively offered at check-in, including the daily food & beverage credit or points. When I later asked about this, I was told I was expected to request the benefit, which has never been my experience elsewhere. When inquiring about late checkout, a staff member laughed when I referenced my Gold status, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. The room was very small and only semi-clean, with visible carpet stains and rust/mildew in the shower. Miami experienced unusually cold temperatures during my stay, and I was surprised to learn the hotel does not offer heating. I had to make multiple trips to the front desk to receive proper blankets. Housekeeping expectations were not clearly explained at check-in, and there was no service on January 1 due to the holiday. Over a five-night stay, the room was refreshed only twice. Reaching the front desk was difficult—calls from the room went unanswered, and messages sent through the Hilton Honors app were not returned. Elevator wait times were consistently long due to their small size. Food from the restaurant/bar was average. I also submitted a detailed complaint directly to Hilton following my stay and, as of posting this review, have not received any response or acknowledgment. This lack of follow-up added to the overall disappointment. The location near the beach and along Collins Avenue is the strongest positive. However, inconsistent service, lack of communication, poor recognition of loyalty status, and no follow-up from management made this stay fall short of Hilton standards.
