Location was perfect for walking around the Historic District. We also used the hop on hop off trolley which was full of information. A pick up site is right outside if this hotel. We of course had the famous Leopold’s ice cream and had fabulous food at The Old Pink House, Vic’s on the River and Belfords. All within walking distance of the hotel. We had breakfast every morning at the hotel which was convenient. All the staff we encountered was pleasant in the hotel and the Lobby area was clean and welcoming. Our room was small but adequate for two people. We were pleased we choose this hotel. It was perfect for all our needs and convenient to everythjng we wanted to do.

Monica at the front desk was exceptional with figuring out the huge screwup that online reservations made for me and my family. She has the best personality and customer service that I have witnessed in a long time. I travel a lot and hands-down meets all qualifications for a good customer service agent. However, the waitress in the restaurant for breakfast needs some work on her personality. The rooms were clean and the valet team was exceptional. Will definitely stay again!

First I’ll start off the rooms and location are convenient and nice. I’ve stayed here maybe close to 10 times over the last year and a half and some of the managers have changed over that timeframe. My issues are over the last year, more and more billing issues and charges. The latest is being charged $58 for valet parking an “oversized” vehicle in a jeep wrangler instead of the normal $48. Wranglers are not a full size suv and considered small/compact. $50-60 to park is absurd and more than many large cities. Also the last several times, if you are a Hilton honors member, they will charge you for taxes and tips and not apply your food and beverages credits towards those even though the Hilton honors FAQ website clearly says credits can be applied towards taxes and gratuity. Beware, they will nickel and dime you on extra charges and it appears to be a management/ownership issue, not the workers. I will be looking to stay at another property going forward and will advise others in my company as well.

This HGI was fantastic. Room was super clean and comfortable. Elevators , lobby, common areas clean and bright. Breakfast buffet was good as well. Friendly and homey.
