Nice hotel, great location. 2 blocks from River St. City market is behind. Walking distance to everything. More shops and restaurants than you can visit on one trip very close to hotel.

Breakfast buffet costs $18 but omelette is extra? No decaf coffee - seemed like no one was really interested in our satisfaction. No water???

"The perfect combination Laziness, apathy, and incompetence"

I first must share I'm a 8-10 year Diamond HHonors Room member and this might be my 3rd complaint during that time. I gave a better score because the property didn't deserve a 1-Star but the staff did. great, check in, great room, breakfast was an abysmal experience. At the risk of being a Karen, I believe this experience stems either employee misjudgment of new policies or an absolute miss in customer service. After checking in for a 1-night stay for business, I had a rare occasion for a light morning so I decided to grab breakfast at the HGI before heading off to my business appointments... a place I had been many times before. No employees were greeting anyone or seating guests. I tried to get coffee... there was no coffee. I seated myself and saw three restaurant employees talking amongst themselves behind the bar. eventually one sees me seat myself and bring over a menu but doesn't ask me I want anything to drink but I volunteer there was no coffee and they temporarily breakup their conversation to actually do the job HGI is paying them for. After pouring myself coffee, I walk over to kitchen and ask if I can order an omelet to which I am told the cook is across the street but they'll take my order. I then turn and try to grab a small helping of scrambled eggs from the buffet so I can eat something while I eatand I am told "if you eat from the buffet and get an omelet, we'll have to charge you for the omelet and an additional $18 for the buffet". So, $37 for a scoop of eggs and an omelet. She continued, " we just changed our menu." This is a clear departure from their earlier policy where you could get custom eggs with the buffet. I handed her the plate, asked her to cancel the omelet and walked back to my room to pack up my bags and perhaps grab breakfast from someplace more focused on customers. As I was waiting for the valet, HHonors shares they'd give me 1,000 pts for my trip advisor review. here it Hilton: My overall opinion is there is no clear management or customer service efforts related to the restaurant going on today. No one to tell these ladies they're being paid to support guests, not gossip in the corner. The good news is I am in Savanah every 2-3 weeks and have plenty of options in Historic Savannah so enjoy providing subpar service to the tourists. This memory will still be with me every time I hover my thumb over the reserve button on this property and I guarantee I will think twice when I have other options.
