Hilton Beachfront Resort & Spa Hilton Head Island in Hilton Head Island, SC

My wife and I stayed on the Hilton Beachfront Resort and Spa at Hilton Head Island over the long MLK holiday weekend for our 33rd anniversary. My hope was that during the off season the hotel would be less crowded and we could escape the cold. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Unbeknownst to us, the hotel was holding their annual Hilton Head Invitational Gymnastics meet on site. This meant that the hotel was full of over 1000 young gymnasts, coaches, and families. When booking the hotel I was notified of ongoing beach restoration work and that I might hear construction noises. I was not informed of the tournament, nor the disruptions that would occur because of the tournament. This resulted in overcrowding in the indoor pool, kids racing down the halls and slamming room doors. While we enjoyed the ocean view from our room, the room itself needed updates and repairs. There is a hole in the bathroom wall where a towel hook has been ripped off. The toilet paper holder isn't far behind and will fall off soon as well, not to mention being uncomfortably far from the toilet. The paint on the closet doors in peeling and the carpet is worn and in need of replacement. There were a few bright spots. The first being the staff who were very apologetic and helpful. From a free room upgrade to an ocean view room, to chocolate covered strawberries sent to our room for our anniversary, they tried to improve the situation. The on-site breakfast was wonderful and surprisingly not crowded. I want to give a shout out to those specific staff members including Anggun (front desk) and Marlene (Breakfast). We also took advantage of the on-site Spa which was the highlight of our stay. Can't say enough good things about the service and staff. It was very relaxing and worth every penny. Again a shout out to Cathy and William who provided much needed massages and worked out our stressful knots. Here is our list of the pros with this location for anyone looking to stay. Pros: Location, Location, Location. Very easy access to everything and right on the beautiful beach. Outdoor pool and hot tubs Staff (again can't say enough good things) - Anggun (front desk) - Marlene (Breakfast) - Cathy (Spa) - William (Spa) Spa (So relaxing) Indoor pool and hot tub were very warm during the cool weather, but again crowded because of the large number of kids staying at the hotel.

We are currently staying in the Hilton (room 614), and I can say disappointed. We haven’t stayed at this Hilton in several (we are Hilton fans and members), and it is obvious nothing has been done here since then. Our room was clean but none of the outlets, plugs, clock, or lights on either side of the bed work. I have called room service on 3 separate occasions and no one ever answered. The hotel and Hilton Head are pretty deserted this weekend so it’s not like they are real busy. The staff are friendly and very pleasant but that is only one part of the equation when staying somewhere. We will not stay here at The Hilton Beachfront Resort on future visits, nor can I recommend them for your stay. Good luck with yours!

We came here for our daughter’s gymnastics competition. The front desk staff Natasha displayed positive attitude in assisting problem solving. We will definitely be back next year

Gymnastics competitions are sometimes very stressful with preparations and baggage. The bellhop, Thomas, was so helpful! Always had a kind word and willingness to help. Thank you Thomas!
