"Renovations Underway"

Because of a winter storm we made reservations on the road with only the hotels app site to use as guidance. This hotel is in the middle of MAJOR renovations, inside and outside that are not indicated anywhere until you pull up. It looks like it will be terrific and the location is actually wonderful. There were many many visitors checking in. After some discussion with a (maybe new) front desk person who seemed to have memorized a script, we were fortunate to be assigned a renovated room. It was really huge, large TV, great desk and bathroom, wet bar with terrific coffee, new mattress and heating unit. It also had workers toothpicks on the windowsill. The closet is interesting: small hanger area but 2 shelves, no door. It's good that the blackout curtains work well, as the conference center next door has a Las Vegas brightly lit sign. The breakfast/sitting area is very nice, with stained glass art about Valdosta at the top of one wall. Exceptional touch. Ask before you book, this hotel has potential when completed.

Stopped in on a long road trip. Check-in was a breeze and this place is within walking distance of restaurants and the Walmart. We're were able to get what we needed in the area while having a nice quiet room. We would stay here again.

"Dated, in disrepair, and dingy. NOT Hilton quality."

After traveling 16 hours, we made reservations and checked in desperate for sleep. We were desperate for sleep, not noticing the issues and just collapsed into the super comfy bed (the only great part of the room). When we got up to shower, the light of day illuminated that this property was definitely not Hilton standards. The worst for me was the disgusting air filter. I snapped a few pics and went to the desk to check out and make them aware of the issues. The front desk person was very pleasant. I wish she were the only person I spoke to. A man was behind the counter and felt the need to speak up when I showed her the filter pic. He started mansplaining how what I was seeing wasn’t dust and dirt, but insulation that cannot be cleaned. Then the general manager came out and offered that if I had told them last night, he could’ve done something, but since I didn’t, there was nothing he could do. I tried telling him we weren’t asking him to do anything, just trying to let him know about the issues before anyone else stayed in there. He blew me off and told the front desk person to give me a 50% refund. He clearly wasn’t interested in the issues and was more concerned with telling me what I should have done. Apparently, when a guest tells you about issues, they must only be angling for a refund. 🙄 Summary: Pro: comfy, clean bed. Con: dated, dirty, in disrepair, TERRIBLE customer service.

This place had easy check in. However it is under construction for a full renovation so it was a bit rundown noisy and the family above our room had some kids running around like thunder till after 11 pm. I’m sure it will be nice when renovations are completed. The charges should be 1/2 price.

We arrived late one night and the lady at the front desk did a great job checking us in and taking care of our needs. She was extremely helpful and so kind. She was professional and welcoming.
