"Pretty disappointing"

We are Hilton Honors members and generally give our business to Hilton properties (primarily Homewood and Hampton) all over. This Hampton was pretty disappointing. First off, it's an incredibly odd layout and part of that is the hilly location it's built on but we had a room on the 2nd floor, which is actually below the main level where you enter but the signage makes it almost impossible to find. You have to pass one bank of elevators to find another one after long maze of walking, only to take it down one level to yet another long walk to get to your room. Second, the air conditioning was incredibly difficult to figure out. Even though the two bedrooms and the living room each have their own unit, we had to call and have the front desk explain that they apparently all need to be set to the exact same thing in order to work. We then went to the bathroom and plugged in a curling iron to find that the outlet does not work. We called maintenance and a nice young man (who told us he just started working there) came up to look at it. Eventually he switched the entire plug out for a new one and, guess what? It still didn't work! So they had to fix it a second time. No apologies, nothing for our inconvenience, just like this is something we should expect. But the worst part was the bedroom door that injured my wife. Yes, injured. When we first got to the room, we were surprised to see one of the bedroom doors partially closed. We pushed it open and found that it swung right back closed. So we had to constantly keep one of our shoes in front of it to keep the door open. At night, we closed it to go to bed. My wife got up in the middle of the night, of course, half asleep to use the bathroom. She opened the door to leave and then had to turn around to get something. She turned back around and, again, being half asleep, she walked head-first into the door and now has a huge bruise on her right temple. She went to the front desk the next day to report this incident to them. Legally, the girl at the front desk should have taken a written report since a guest was injured on property. Instead she simply told my wife that she would let management know about the door. Are you serious?? A guest is injured in one of your rooms because of your maintenance negligence (don't tell me every housekeeper who has tended to that room isn't aware the door is loose and shuts on its own) and all you do is say you'll tell someone? If I was Hilton's liability attorneys I'd be a bit worried about the failure of you front desk clerks to take a report when a guest tells you they were injured on property. Overall, this was a very disappointing stay, especially as we spent 71,000 points AND $500 to stay here for two nights. It was at least a good location, within walking distance of Climate Pledge Arena and the Space Needle but, beyond that, one of the worst Hilton property experiences we've ever had.

"Very positive experience and compliments to staff."

We had a lovely stay over Christmas and just wanted to say thank you to Catherine and Cecil especially (unsure if spelling is correct). Two fantastic employees who both went out of their way to either welcome us with an early check-in that was available, and Cecil who went out of his way to help me find some lost shoes. Very clean rooms thanks to Andrea and her team over the holidays too! This is our third time staying at Hampton at 700 Fifth Avenue and we love the staff, the location and everything it offers, but the kindness of Cecil and Catherine was exceptional so wanted to write a review!

Its the staff that sets this Hampton Inn apart from the rest. Especially a guy named Cecil who works the front desk. He is the best. Always friendly and helpful, he makes staying at the Hampton a real pleasure!

"Not a Good Experience!"

What a huge disappointment! First of all, at check-in we were told that housekeeping would be done daily. It was not done the first night; we were told they were short on housekeepers. The next night it was done. The third night it was not done until very late afternoon. When I inquired at the front desk about not having the room cleaned, Ceile told me that housekeeping was provided as a courtesy - WOW! The room was not very comfortable - the pillows were fairly flat, and the mattress was not up to Hampton standards. The breakfast was ok, but we've had breakfasts in other Hampton Inn that were far superior. This hotel needs a MAJOR renovation not only in the rooms but in some employees.

Expecting a typical good stay as we always use Hampton Inn. The room was dismal. Small double bed The breakfast was a huge disappointment. We had a little, and then decided to find a place to eat and pay. Part of the alure of Hampton Inns has always been their breakfast. We won't be back
